1. Wear safety glasses at all times when working with pumps.
2. It is strongly recommended that this unit is plugged into a Ground Fault Circuit Interrupter (GFCI) (See Figure 1). Consult a local electrician for installation and availability.
3. Do not use the power cord or discharge hose to carry or hang the pump, always use the handle.
Installation
Always disconnect
the electric supply before attempting to install, service, relocate or perform any maintenance. If the power source is out of sight, lock and tag in open (off) position to prevent unexpected power application. Failure to do so could result in fatal electrical shock.
Important: This unit is not designed for use in septic tanks or underground vaults to pump raw sewage or effluents. Never use in hazardous or explosive locations.
1. This pump has been designed to
attach to a standard garden hose. Thread the female end of the garden hose to the male discharge on the pump (see Figure 2) .
2. To reduce leakage between the pump and the hose, place a hose washer (not included) on the hose fitting prior to installing the hose to the pump (see Figure 3).

Maintenance
Always disconnect
the electric supply before attempting to install, service, relocate or perform any maintenance. Failure to do so could result in fatal electrical shock.
Minimal service is required for this pump. If pump should fail to operate, perform the following troubleshooting guidelines.
1. The motor housing of the pump is
completely sealed and requires no service. Disassembly of the motor housing or alteration of the power cord could result in fatal electrical shock and will void the warranty.
2. Verify the pump is operating
correctly.
a. Disconnect the pump from the
power source.
b. Disconnect the discharge hose
from the pump.
c. Immerse the pump in a bucket or
tub of water.
d. Plug the power cord into a
grounded 120 volt AC power outlet. If the pump operates correctly proceed to step #3. If pump does not operate, unplug the power cord and proceed to maintenance guideline #4.
3. Verify the discharge hose is
correctly installed.
a. Connect hose to another water
source such as a faucet. If water flows through the hose, proceed to 3b. If water is restricted, verify the discharge hose is unwound. Remove all kinks, bends or obstructions in the hose.
b. Verify pumping height does not
exceed 14 ft. (see Figure 5). If pumping height is greater than 14 ft, this pump will not work.
Installation
(Continued)
4. Do not set the pump directly on dirt, mud or sand. This will cause the inlet to clog. Set pump on a hard surface in water.
Operation
Do not touch
pump, pump motor, water or discharge piping when the pump is connected to electrical power. Do not handle a pump or pump motor with wet hands or when standing in water or on a wet or damp surface. Never touch the pump or discharge piping when unit is operating or fails to operate. Always disconnect the pump power cord before handling.
Risk of electrical shock! This pump is supplied with a grounding conductor and grounding type attachment plug. Use a grounded receptacle to reduce the risk of fatal electrical shock. Never cut off the round grounding prong. Cutting the cord or plug will void the warranty and make the pump dangerous to operate.
1. Plug unit into a grounded 120 volt
AC power outlet. The unit will operate continuously whether partly or fully submerged.
2. On a flat surface, the pump will
remove water down to 1/8” of the pumping surface. Shut off pump immediately if unit has been operating and suddenly no water comes out of discharge hose. The water level is probably very low and the pump has lost prime. Use a mop or squeegee to remove remaining water.
3. Never allow pump to run dry. Pump
depends on water for lu bri ca tion. Do not operate unit unless pump is submerged in water. Dry run ning (pump not pumping water) will damage the pump and cause pump failure.
