Jeep Cherokee Adventure Door
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
Section I - Door Removal
1. Start by rolling the windows down. Pull the rubber boot from each door loose. This will expose the
wiring. If you have manual doors and locks, you will see only two wires for speakers. If you have
power doors, you will see several wires for the windows, locks, and speakers. You will need to cut
these wires, and use some sort of shielded wire connectors to make everything easy to unplug. Be
careful to wire everything back together correctly. If you are unfamiliar with wiring, it is recommended
that a professional set the wiring up for you.
2. Next, use a punch and small hammer, or a pair of pliers to remove the pin that holds the door stop
to the doorjamb.
3. Now you can remove your door. Remove the 6 Torx bolts from the door and gently set the door
aside. Make sure you keep the shims in each hinge labeled so you can put them back the same.
This will be crucial to getting the doors re-aligned later. It may also be helpful to mark around them
with a marker so you can remember the positioning.
Section II - Hinge preparation
1. The first thing to do is to separate the two pieces of the hinge. You do this by finding which end of
each pin is the bottom. The top of the pin will have a head like a nail. Drive the pin out from the
bottom of the pin. Note that some will drive upward, and some will drive downward. It is all
dependent on the location of the pins head. With the pin out, the hinge will now be in two pieces, one
piece loose and the inner piece welded to the doorjamb.
2. On the doorjamb part of the hinge, there will be a plastic liner inside the cylinder that the pin sits in.
You will need to clean this out for the tube doors to fit.
3. The last step is optional. To re-assemble your factory doors, you would need to reverse steps
here, by putting the hinge back together, and then bolting up and re-aligning the doors. As an option,
you can cut the lower ear of the door side piece of the hinge off, shorten the pin, and then drive the
pin into the top ear of the hinge. This created a top mounted pin on the door, and makes them quick
and easy to lift off. Warrior will not claim any responsibility for your vehicle if you choose this route,
as it is common for the doors to be much less sturdy and tight using this method. At the top of page 2
of these instructions you will see what the modified door hinge will look like.

4. At this point you are finished. If you have made this modification to your hinges, you can now bolt
them to the doors, remembering to replace all of the shims in their original locations, and set them in
place to re-align them. If you chose to not modify your doors, you will need to reverse the
disassembly of the hinge to re-install them.
Section III - Tube Door Installation
1. Install the paddle handle into your new doors. The handles are attached using the 4 small screws
and nuts that are supplied in the kit. If you purchased mesh covers, these need to be installed before
the handle is installed.
2. Slide the door into place. Thread the securing nut onto the top pin of the door. Do not over
tighten.
Snubbers:
1. Included in your kit are two rubber snubbers and screws.
These are a universal part to help assist you in getting rid of
door rattle.
2. Locate a suitable location for the snubber to attach to the tube
door and mark for drilling.
3. Drill hole with a 1/8” drill bit
4. Use the #8 sheet metal screws included to pre-thread the hole.
You should be able to get it to cut threads with just a
screwdriver.
5. Use the same screws to secure the snubber to the door. Do
not tighten too much, or you’ll go right through the snubber.
Tighten until the screws head contacts the shoulder inside the snubber, then just snug down slightly more.
6. The image to your right shows a sample installation of the snubber.
