PHASE 1: LEG INSTALLATION
1. Remove spare tire from the rear of the tailgate.
2. Remove the plastic covers from the tailgate hinges; to do this you must open the tailgate, pinch the tabs on the inside of the
hinge, and then slide them toward the driver side. If you wish to re-attach these, you will have to notch them to clear your Adventure Rack. Be careful that you don’t cut the cover into two pieces when notching.
3. On the driver side of the tailgate, measure mark, and drill 5/16” holes _” from the left of the tailgate both 1” from the top
and bottom of the tailgate, so that the hole spread ends up at 14_”. Use the two supplied 5/16” button head Allen bolt with flat washers and nuts to attach the driver side leg to these holes. The head of the bolt will be on the inside edge so as not to damage the weather stripping. See Fig. B
4. On the passenger side, unbolt the outermost bolts from the upper and lower hinge. Use the two 8mm supplied and two
5/16” flat washers to bolt the passenger side leg into the existing hinge mounting holes that you just removed the factory bolts from.
5. If you chose to notch your plastic covers to fit, now is the time to mark and cut the notches, then you will need to remove
the passenger leg, attach the covers, and re-attach the leg.
PHASE 2: BASKET INSTALLATION
1. Place the basket on top of the legs lining the holes in the basket with the holes in the leg’s
mounting plates. Use four 3/8” bolts with flat and lock washers to attach the rack to the legs.
2. Finish by placing the gas can clamps on the studs atop the basket, and secure using the two
supplied wing nuts.
Tighten all bolts and check to be sure the rack is securely attached to the rear of the vehicle.
ENJOY YOUR NEW RACK!
