FJ CRUISER ADVENTURE DOORS
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
WAR 3077
1. Begin by assembling your doors.
2. The rubber stopper supplied in your kit will install between the gussets on the
flat bracket sticking off the inside of each door as shown in the photo to the
right. You should find a small 1/8” hole drilled where it will mount. It is possible
that powder coat will fill this hole, which means you will need to run a drill bit
through it again. Tighten until the stopper sits slightly snug against its mounting
surface. Do not over tighten as the screw will go all the way through the
stopper.
3. Next install your paddle handle into your door. The paddle handles will install
from the outside of the door, inserting them through the mount opening. The slot of the striker should
point so the open end faces downward. Use the supplied small screws to attach the handles to the door.
4. On the paddle latch you will find two nuts with black caps over the studs. The lower one of these is prone
to loosening. Make sure the lower mechanism cannot move against the rest of the latch assembly. If it
can, tighten that bolt to make sure it cannot move.
5. Next we will remove your factory doors. Roll down your windows first, this will make handling the doors
much easier.
6. Remove your kick panels. To do this, there is a small plastic nut where the floorboard and kick panel
meet. Remove this plastic nut. Next pop the entry cover along the door sill loose on the front end (snaps
into place). Remove the kick panel, which also snaps into place.
7. With the kick panel removed, pop the wiring grommet that connects the door to the doorjamb away from
the doorjamb. Trace the wires inside to the plugs behind the kick panel area and unplug them. Slide the
wires out of the doorjamb so they are free from the vehicle.
8. Unbolt the door stop from the doorjamb using a 10mm socket and ratchet
wrench. This image shows what the bolt looks like.
9. At this point, the 4 hinge bolts should be the only thing holding your door into
place. You will need a platform to support your door while you unbolt it. A
person to assist you may be the easiest way to support the door. Unbolt the door
and set it aside.
10. Use the supplied hardware to bolt the Adventure Door to the hinges. Tighten all
the bolts and nuts to hand tight and close the door. Adjust the door on the
slotted mount holes and adjust the striker on your doorjamb as needed to make
the door fit best. Once aligned, tighten door completely.
11. This completes your installation, reverse steps to re-install your factory doors when desired.
