JK Complete LED Tail Light Kit

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WAR 2960

Installation:

1. Remove both stock tail lights by unscrewing the two screws in the tail light on the inside edge nearest the
tailgate. The outer two do not need to be removed.

2. Remove the two threaded metal inserts that hold the stock tail light in place

3. It is recommended that you use tape around the tail light to protect your vehicle while installing the light
boxes. Blue painters tape works well for this.

4. Hold your tail light box into place and attach to the two inner mounting holes for the taillight using the
supplied 1” long bolts with a washer and nylock nut on the back side.

5. The outer two holes need to be drilled, use a 5/16” drill bit to drill the holes. After they are drilled, remove
the light box.

6. Cut out the rear of the JK tub to allow for clearance for the 4” LED tail light. This is a trial and error fit.

7. Next, build your wiring harnesses. The easiest way to do this is the cut the light sockets off of the
harness that is attached to your OEM tail lights and wire the LED pigtails directly into this harness. This
results into a harness that you can disconnect from the Jeep and won’t require any modification to the
Jeep’s main wiring harness.

8. Remove both stock taillights and cut off the two bulbs as shown below. Strip back the 5 wires on the now
loose plug where the bulbs were cut off

9. Connect your LED light wires to this harness. Below are the wires to join

JK Harness

4” Tail Light Pigtail

Purple/White

Black (Tail Marker)
Black

White (Ground)
Yellow/White

Red (Turn/Stop Marker)

2” Reverse Light Pigtail

Green/White

Brown (Positive)
Black

White (Ground)

10. Next, connect your load resistors. The load resistor will have two wires. Use the included blue splice
connectors to connect one end to the white ground wire on the LED Tail Light Pigtail, and the second wire
to the red turn/stop wire on the LED Tail Light Pigtail.
