LICENSE PLATE BRACKET (SIDE MOUNT)

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

NOTE: This installation can be done without, but WP recommends that you use Jeep part #55397112AA filler plate. This

plate covers the factory license plate opening in the Jeep. You can simply drill a small hole for the LED wiring to fit through,
so the large hole is not exposed to the elements. You may also want to obtain some factory touch up paint to cover the holes
drilled during installation.

Installation:

1. Begin by unscrewing your license plate.

2. Behind the plate is an access panel where you will need to unplug your wiring for the license plate light.

3. Remove the mounting screws holding the bracket on. There are screws behind the mounting surface of the plate, as

well as under the top surface of the bumper. The bumper end screws can be very tricky to remove without removing
the bumper, and you may need to do so.

4. Remove the taillight by removing the two inner screws and unplugging the harness. This gives you access to the

backside of the body to assist in installation.

5. You should now have the factory license plate mount and driver’s taillight removed.

6. If you’re using the Jeep filler plate, now is the time to pop the plate into place. You can pre-drill the hole for the

wires to route through, or drill it once it is on the vehicle. Be careful when drilling to not crack the plastic.

7. Set your new bracket into place and mark the 4 holes to be drilled for installation.

8. Drill the two side holes with a 21/64” or 11/32” drill bit. Finish the holes with some touch up paint to help prevent

rusting.

9. Drill the two holes on the back with a 17/64” drill bit.

10. You will find included in the kit some rubber edge trim. This goes along the curved edge of the top of your license

plate bracket. It simply slides on, and you can trim the ends to fit using a razor blade or scissors.

11. If it is not already installed. Slide your LED light into place. The two small metal screws supplied screw in from

the back side and into the plastic of the light. Feed the wire through the small hole on the mounting surface, then
through the small hole in the top of the bracket. You can use a grommet in the _” hole in the bracket for a cleaner
looking installation.

12. Feed the light wire into the hole in your Jeep filler plate installed earlier, and bolt your bracket into place using the

supplied 5/16” countersink bolts, washers, and locking nuts on the side. The back two bolts will install with the
5/16” self tapping TORX head bolts in your kit.

13. You can now proceed with wiring your LED light. On the new marker light, the black wire is ground, and white

wire is positive. You will need to determine which wire on the JK is which. The easiest way is to test it with the
light. If you get them reversed, the light will simply not work. You will not damage the Jeep or the light.

14. Once your marker light is wired and tested to be working, and your 4 bracket bolts are tightened, re-install your

taillight.

15. Finish the install by sliding your license plate into place over the studs. Use the supplied small washers and acorn

nuts to secure the license plate to the bracket. This will complete your installation.
