RECEIVER HITCH

INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS

WAR 1027 / 1028

Prepare vehicle frame. Clean away most of the undercoating, if present. Position receiver hitch on the
frame. Remove exhaust pipe bracket saving the muffler clamp for later use.

1. ON VEHICLES WITH STEEL SKID PLATES:

The two existing bolts on the skid plates are reused for securing the hitch to the frame.
These vehicles also have nuts welded in the frame.
Four (4) additional 12mm X 45mm bolts are supplied in the kit for installation.

2. ON VEHICLES WITH NO SKID PLATE:

Six (6) 1/2 " X 1 1/2 " carriage bolts and square washers are provided for installation.

3. ON VEHICLES WITH PLASTIC TANK COVERS:

Cover must be removed, modified to fit, and installed with the hitch.

4. ON VEHICLES WITH SHIELD OVER THE GAS TANK HOSE:

Remove the shield, modify to fit, and reinstall.

Because of boxed uni-body frame, bolts and square flat washer must be fishwired into place through an
existing access hole. To accomplish this, wrap a wire around the threads of a bolt at the end and pull
wire, bolt and washer back through the access hole to the attachment hole. Attach receiver hitch to
vehicle frame using spacers if necessary to level the hitch.

Install exhaust hanger with new clamp. Bend hanger to fit. Mount in factory location.

Do not exceed Vehicle Manufacturers Recommended Towing Capacity!
