1 WARNING
1.1 Weather-tightness
Installation of the flashing kit supplied with in-roof mounting kits should only be
undertaken by trained, experienced roofing professionals.
It is the responsibility of the roofing professional to ensure the suitability of the flashing
supplied for the specific installation and roof type and to ensure the weather-tightness of the installation.
A continuous vapour barrier MUST be installed beneath the collector array, extending
down to the guttering, to prevent moisture ingress to the building in the event of leakage of the flashing.
No claim for consequential loss or damage arising as a result of a defect of the flashing
or its installation shall be accepted by the manufacturer.
2 INSTALLATION
2.1 General Requirements
Select a suitable position for the collector. Ensure the section of roof to which the collector is being installed is capable of supporting its weight and any likely wind and snow loads.
The collector should face as close as practicably possible towards south and not be shaded by surrounding buildings, trees or other sections of the building to which it is being installed. The collector must be installed on a section of roof with a tilt of between 15° and 90° to the horizontal. Table 1 shows the effect of the tilt and orientation of the collector on performance.

In-roof kits are available for fitting the collector to both tiled and slate roofs:
tiled in-roof installation (refer to Section 2.2)
slate in-roof installation (refer to Section 2.3)
IMPORTANT
Fill, flush and leak test the system PRIOR to installing the flashing
