Wampler Talent Booster User Manual

Talent Booster Manual
Thank you for your purchase of the Talent Booster. The pedal is very effective at providing just a hint of overdrive to a clean tone, and is an excellent way to give a solid state amp user the feel and tonality of a tube amp. It is also very capable of being a pure clean boost as described further below.
You can place the pedal either before or after your overdrive or distortion pedals with excellent results. Placing the the Talent Booster before any overdrive or distortion pedal (or before your amp's input if you are using amp distortion) will increase the gain, and putting it after any distortion (or in the amp's effect loop) will allow you to increase the volume of the signal, effectively making it a great booster for solo's.
The presence switch boosts frequencies as well. With the switch to the left, it boosts treble a bit, making it great for chimey tones (consider it a 'top boost' style circuit). With the switch to the right, it boosts all frequencies but will have a bit more overdrive capabilities. This will most likely be where you want it if you have low output pickups and need more volume from the pedal. With high output pickups or some humbuckers, it may have too much gain for a pure clean boost. With the switch in the middle, it may be the best setting for someone who has high output pickups and some humbuckers. All frequencies are boosted in the middle mode as well, but the gain is not as high as it is with the switch to the right.
Power Requirements
The pedal can be powered by a 9V battery. If using a power supply, power needed for the pedal is 9V DC, regulated, center pin negative, just like most standard Boss™/Ibanez™/Etc. supplies. We recommend the Visual Sound 1 SPOT™.
