CLEANING
For your system to work properly, it is important that you begin shaving with blades that are clean and free of hair and other debris that might affect performance. It is recommended that you clean your shaver after every 2 or 3 shaves, using the cleaning brush, and following the instructions outlined below.
Remove the blade foil from the top of your shaver, by pressing the round button located on the right side of the unit, and lifting the flex foil head off of the shaver. This will expose the cutter bar assembly. The flex foil head may be cleaned of loose material, by gently tapping it against the surface of your sink. Be sure your sink is empty, and does not contain any water in it before you hold your shaver over it. Never hold any electrical appliance over any container that has water in it, as it may fall into the water and cause severe electrical shock. Remove any loose hair and debris from the cutter bar assembly and surrounding area, by brushing it away gently with your cleaning brush. Then, remove the cutting bar, by gently pressing down on it, and turning it 90 degrees. It should pop right off. Run the cutter bar under some warm water, and dry it off with a paper towel. Return it to the shaver by reversing this process, and replacing the foil head. By properly cleaning and maintaining your shaver it will provide maximum comfort and shaving.
QUICK TIPS & HANDY REMINDERS
1. If you are a first-time electric shaver user, or changing from another brand, there will be a 2-3 week (or less) adjustment period, while your face and beard adapt to the new foil.
2. When you open your package, charge your shaver for 18 hours before the first shave.
3. If you have a charging stand place the shaver in the reverse position between daily use, so as not to recharge or create an electronic set in the battery.
4. Replace the foil every 6-12 months, depending on how often you shave and how tough your beard is.
5. Be sure to clean the shaver, cutter bar and foil every two or three shaves.
6. Replace the cutter bar every 12-18 months.
7. Keep using and your face and beard will adapt to the shaver.

SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS
This product is designed for household use only. Use transformer with Wahl clippers and shavers only. Disposal of Ni-Cad Battery contains sealed, rechargeable nickel-cadmium battery must be recycled or disposed of properly. Depending on use, your battery should last four to six years before replacement is necessary. When replacement is necessary, follow these simple steps:
1. First remove the Flex Foil Head while shaver is in off position. Push the Shaver Head Release Button on the side of the shaver and lift foil head upward. Remove cutter bar by holding shaver in one hand, gently press down on cutter bar to rotate it 90° and gently lift it upward. Be sure your thumb and first finger are positioned at each end of cutter bar assembly.
2. Remove the two Spring Clips on the top of the shaver using a small, flat-blade screwdriver. Place hand over Spring Clips when removing in order to prevent the clips from springing away and getting lost. Pull back trimmer housing away from the shaver.
3. Cut wires on both sides of tab at each end of battery. Remove battery.
4.The RBRC program provides a convenient alternative to placing Ni-Cad batteries into the trash or the municipal waste stream, which is illegal in some areas. For proper disposal, call 1-800-8-BATTERY for a recycling center in your area.
CHARGING OPERATION
This shaver can be used with a cord, or without the cord if adequately charged. Unlike many other shavers, you have the ability to shave even if the battery power is low.
• For best performance, charge for 18 hours before the first shave. This product has been designed with the charger in the plug. This construction allows the shaver to be very powerful, yet much lighter for easier maneuverability, and it also keeps the line voltage safely at the plug and not in the shaver.
• Plug the transformer cord into the shaver. BE SURE SHAVER IS IN THE “OFF” POSITION (MARKED “O” ON SHAVER) WHEN CHARGING, except when the unit is running.
• In the “off” position, the Recharging Indicator Light will glow whenever the shaver is connected to an A.C. power supply. (On certain models with an indicator light, it may take a minute or two for the LED indicator to glow if the battery is fully discharged.) The shaver cannot be overcharged, so you may charge it as often as desired. However, periodic recharging of the shaver, rather than continuous recharging, will prolong battery life. Shavers available with the Charging Stand can be set in the stand for charging. An overnight charge once a week or once every two weeks will give optimum battery life.
CORD CARE
The cord should never be used to pull the shaver. Freedom of movement needs to be maintained. Care should be used to keep the cord untwisted, and undamaged. When stored, the cord should be coiled and placed neatly in a dry place.
