PROJECTOR TABLE LIFT
VUTEC
VIDEO PROJECTION SCREENS

OVERVIEW
The Vutec Table Lifts are designed for raising and retracting light loaded projectors such as
LCD or DLP type projectors. The mechanism is shipped complete and ready to be installed
inside a custom-made cabinet. No assembly is required except for simple leveling adjustments
once installed. The lift comes with RF remote control system as standard package.
It is important to remember that the total weight of the cabinet cover and the projector must not
exceed the specified maximum lifting capacity. The specification sheet is provided with this
manual.
Following are the primary steps involved in the planning and completion of a standard
installation.
MECHANICAL INSTALLATION
Referring to the specification sheet, determine the size and shape for the cabinet to be built to
enclose the lift. It is recommended that measurements should be taken off the actual lift for exact
fit.
The space for the projector to occupy is in the form of a rectangular; thus, depending on the
projector size and shape; the projector lens may be aiming along the length or the width of the
rectangular space. Figures 1a and 1b demonstrated these two scenarios. Access doors for lift’s
internal components should be provided and the doors should always on the backside of the
projector. Two doors center closing is recommended for minimum swing out.

The removable steel cage that attached to the traveling platform may be removed and replaced
with user custom cabinet. Referring to Figure 2, tabletop over-hangs and end returns, if any,
should be kept to a minimum to avoid possible interference with the projector light beam. Be
sure that the total weight of the tabletop and the projector must not exceed the specified
maximum lifting capacity.
Warning:
To prevent crushing of hands or objects; the tabletop must not be screwed to the removable
steel cage or custom cabinet. It must lies on top and locates by Dowel pins to determine its
position.

Mounting holes for #8 screws are placed along the frame’s four vertical angles. If there is needs
for other mounting preferences, do so as long as mounting objects do not interfere with lift’s
internal moving parts.

ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS
Make connections per the Wiring Diagram as shown in Figure 3.
Dashed wirings shown are to be connected by installers.
Wirings must conform to local and/or national electrical codes and regulations.
Wirings must be of minimum 18-AWG.

Optionally, the table lift may be controlled by a relay trigger, a low voltage control, an IR remote
control or a RF remote control.

The lift motor equipped with built-in limit switches for both raised and retracted directions.
Referring to Figures 4a, 4b and 4c, remove the yellow protective cap to reveal the yellow and
white buttons. Yellow button is for limit switch controlling the lift raised direction and white
button is for retracted direction. The following steps describe how these switches worked.
It is important to know that when a button is out; the limit switch for that direction is engaged to
stop the motor at that point. When a button is in, the limit switch for that direction is disengaged
and the motor is free running. Stopping the motor must be done by pushing the center button on
the transmitter.

The following steps should be carried out only when the lift is inside the cabinet with the
tabletop attached and the projector placed inside. The traveling platform is spring tensioned to
remove any slack on lift cables so it needs full load to properly define its start and stop positions.
Complete setup weight plays important roll as to where the fully raised and retracted should be.
1 - Push both yellow and white buttons in, via the transmitter, send an up command (top right
button) and prepare to stop the lift when traveling cage platform flush with inside tabletop
(see Figure 2). Press to bring yellow button out to engage limit switch stopping point.
2 - Send a down command (lower left button) via the transmitter and prepare to stop the lift
when the tabletop just landed on the cabinet. Press to bring white button out to engage limit
switch stopping point.
3 - In order to repeat steps 1 or 2, the yellow or white buttons must be disengaged. Otherwise
the motor will stops at the pre-set stopping point for that direction.

ADJUSTMENTS
Referring to Figure 2, The four thumbscrews provide a mean to fine tune and leveling the
traveling platform to flush with inside tabletop. Loosen the hex nuts on the thumbscrews and
adjust by turning each thumbscrew up or down. Once the platform flushes with inside tabletop,
tighten the hex nuts.
Be sure the video cables and the projector power cord are locate and tie down properly inside
and bottom of the traveling platform.
Note:
DO NOT PLACE HEAVY OBJECTS ON TOP OF TABLETOP THAT MIGHT EXCEED THE LIFT’S
LIFTING CAPACITY.
