BEFORE YOU START
Congratulations! You have just purchased
the best bicycle wheels available. Vuelta is
a worldwide brand recognized for quality,
value and performance enjoyed by elite athletes and enthusiasts alike. Years of experience have gone into the design, engineering
and manufacture of every Vuelta product,
especially when it comes to our wheels.
The quality of every Vuelta and ZeroLite
wheel made in our factory depends upon the
skill and knowledge of our wheel-building
specialists and an elite quality-control team
that uses the best equipment available. Each
wheel is hand assembled, after which it is
then tensioned, de-stressed and checked
by hand six times. Finished wheels are
inspected three times by an actual human
being – because we believe that machines
just aren’t good enough when it comes to
building great wheels.

ATTACHING YOUR WHEELS
Vuelta and ZeroLite road, mountain bike and
track wheels are attached in one of three ways
in the dropouts on a bicycle’s forks and frame:
1. ROAD/MTB QUICK RELEASES
A hollow axle with a shaft (skewer) running
through it which has an adjustable tension
nut on one end and an over-center cam on
the other is called a quick release or QR.
When closing a QR lever, it should leave a
light impression on the palm of your hand.
If QR is too tight, it can overload the wheel
bearings. Loosen the adjustment nut on end
of QR as needed and close lever.
Remove QRs once a month for inspection. Clean any road or trail debris that can
cause the QR to bind where the lever moves
against the retainer bushing. After cleaning,
apply a small amount of lube between the
lever and bushing before reinstallation.
2. ALL MOUNTAIN MTB
QUICK-CHANGE AXLES
Vuelta All Mountain MTB Wheels feature a
quick-change front hub and 12 mm rear axle.
Depending on your bike model, the front
wheel can be converted quickly with supplied
accessory parts to use a 9 mm QR skewer;
the 15 mm axle and 20 mm Thru Axle are
tightened with a hex key on the forks.
Remove skewer inserts and install supplied
inserts to use 15 mm axle. No inserts are
needed if your bike has forks with a Thru
Axle. See your bicycle owner’s manual to
determine correct wheel setup.
