Please read and follow these instructions carefully:
Use only the supplied rechargeable battery or replacement battery.
Do not dispose of the battery in a fire. Check with local codes for special
disposal instructions.
Do not open or mutilate the battery. Released electrolyte is corrosive and
may cause damage to the eyes or skin. It may be toxic if swallowed.
Exercise care in handling batteries in order not to create a short circuit
with conductive materials such as rings, bracelets, and keys. The battery or conductor may overheat and cause harm.
Charge the battery provided with or identified for use with this product
only in accordance with the instructions and limitations specified in this manual.
Observe proper polarity orientation between the battery and battery
charger.
Do not disassemble your telephone. There are no user-serviceable parts
inside. Refer to qualified service personnel for servicing.

Add new handsets to make your telephone more versatile (see page 65)
Your telephone can accommodate up to twelve cordless handsets. You can add new handsets (AT&T EP562, purchased separately) at anytime, but each must be registered with the telephone base before use.
The handset provided with your telephone is automatically registered as handset 1. Additional handsets will be assigned numbers in the order they are registered (2, 3, 4, etc.). You can register a maximum of 12 handsets.

Handset
STATUS LIGHT
Blinks slowly when there is a new voicemail or a new message in the answering system.
SOFTKEYS
Press to select a m enu item displayed just above the key.
/VOLUME
Press to increase or decrease handset listening volume.
OFF/CANCEL
HOME/FLASH
Blinks when there is an incom- when there is an incom­ing call.
Press to make and answer a call.
Press to receive an incoming call if call waiting is activated (page
27).
Flashes when a call is on hold.
During a call, press to receive an incoming call if call waiting is activated.
SPEAKER
Press to activate the handset speakerphone. Press again to resume normal handset use (page
23).
CELLULAR
Press to pick up an incoming call or make an outgoing call on the cellular line.
If two cellular phones are on the active device list, press to select the desired cellular line.
Press to switch to the designated cellular line after a Bluetooth paired cellular phone is paired.
During a call, press to hang up.
While using menus, press to cancel an operation, back up to the previous menu, or exit the menu display.
NavKey
Press the CENTER NavKey to display menus or select a high­lighted item.
