Thank you for purchasing the VTech® Play & Learn Rocket Piano!
Explore music and have lots of fun with this Rocket shaped musical piano. With four modes of play you will be introduced to famous composers and their music, instruments, numbers and music concepts as you play and learn with the Little Einsteins. Learn to play basic tunes by following the lights on the piano keys or record your own tunes and play them back to your friends! Speed and effects knobs add to the fun.

wire ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should be discarded for your child’s safety.
GETTING STARTED
BATTERY INSTALLATION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of the unit.
3. Install 3 new “AA” size (LR6/AM3) batteries following the diagram inside the battery box. (The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum performance.)
4. Replace the battery cover.
BATTERY NOTICE
The use of new alkaline batteries is recommended for maximum
performance.
Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being charged (if removable).
Rechargeable batteries are only to be charged under adult supervision (if removable).
Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be mixed.

Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are to be used.
Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the toy.
The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
The toy is not to be connected to more than the recommended number of power supplies.
Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES.
PRODUCT FEATURES
1. ON/OFF BUTTON
To turn the unit ON, press the ON/OFF
BUTTON. To turn the unit OFF, press the ON/OFF BUTTON again.
2. AUTOMATIC SHUT-OFF
To preserve battery life, the VTech® Play & Learn Rocket Piano will automatically power-down after approximately 3 minutes without input. The unit can be turned on again by pressing the ON/OFF BUTTON.
3. RECORD & PLAY
Press the RECORD BUTTON. You will hear a sound to indicate that the record function has been activated. Press the PIANO KEYS to create your own song. To play back your recording, press the PLAY BUTTON.

4. EFFECTS & SPEED KNOBS
Turn the SPEED KNOB to hear the music played faster or slower. Turn the EFFECTS KNOB to add fun sounds to the music.
5. CRESCENDO & DIMINUENDO
BUTTONS
Press the CRESCENDO BUTTON to hear a short tune gradually increase in volume. Press the DIMINUENDO BUTTON to hear a short tune gradually decrease in volume. Press these buttons while a song is playing to hear the volume increase or decrease.
6. MODES OF PLAY
The four modes of play include Follow Me, Free Play, Music Fun and Quiz. Press one of the FOUR MODE BUTTONS to select a mode of play. When you first turn the unit ON, you will automatically enter Free Play mode.

MODES OF PLAY
Mode 1: Follow Me
1. Press the PIANO KEYS as they light up to play a song. When you
have completed a song you will hear, “You did it !” and the song will be played back.
2. Press the NUMBER BUTTONS or the FAMOUS COMPOSER
BUTTONS to hear a song.
Mode 2: Free Play
1. Press the CHARACTER BUTTONS to
hear the characters and their instruments identified followed by the instrument sound.
2. Press the FAMOUS COMPOSER
BUTTONS to hear either the composer name and the song or the song name and
the song.

Mode 3: Music Fun
1. Create your own song! Press the NUMBER BUTTONS or the FAMOUS COMPOSER BUTTONS to hear a song. Press the
PIANO KEYS while a song is playing to add the notes to the song.
2. Press the CHARACTER BUTTONS to hear the instrument sounds.
Mode 4: Quiz
1. Answer the questions by pressing the correct buttons to answer. If you answer a question incorrectly 3 times, the answer will be given and a new question will be asked.
CARE & MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working or malfunctions, please follow these steps:
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.

3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.
4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
