The VTech® First StepsTM Baby Walker is both a functional walker
and a fun learning toy for toddlers aged 6 - 30 months. Your child will
enjoy learning about colours, numbers, animals, shapes and much
more! The electronic activity panel can be easily removed from the
walker for floor play fun! Then, as your baby becomes more confident
at standing, the walker will encourage those first precious steps.

ties and tags are not part of this toy, and should be
discarded for your child’s safety.
GETTING STARTED
BA TTERY INSTALLA TION
1. Make sure the unit is turned OFF.
2. Locate the battery cover on the bottom of
the unit. Use a coin or screwdriver to loosen
the screw.
3. Install 3 new ‘AA’ (LR6) batteries following
the diagram inside the battery box. (The
use of new alkaline batteries is recommended
for maximum performance).
4. Replace the battery cover and tighten the
screw to secure.

BATTERY NOTICE
• Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
• Rechargeable batteries are to be removed from the toy before being
charged (if removable).
• Rechargeable batteries are to be charged under adult supervision
(if removable).
• Different types of batteries or new and used batteries are not to be
mixed.
• Only batteries of the same or equivalent type as recommended are
to be used.
• Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.
• Exhausted batteries are to be romoved from the toy.
• The supply terminals are not to be short-circuited.
• The toy is not to be connected to the more than recommended
number of power supplies.
• Do not dispose of batteries in fire.
WE DO NOT RECOMMEND THE USE OF RECHARGEABLE
BATTERIES.
ADULT SUPERVISION REQUIRED AT ALL TIMES.
TO BEGIN PLAY
1. To begin play, slide the ON/OFF/VOLUME
SWITCH to the LOW VOLUME ( ) or the
HIGH VOLUME ( ) position.

ACTIVITIES
There are two modes of play, Music Mode and Learning Mode.
The mode can be changed by flipping the Butterfly Wing.
Music Mode
T o enter Music Mode, flip the butterfly wing to
the left.
1. Press the four Shape Buttons to hear
fun phrases and cool music!
2. Press the cute Puppy Button to play 'Puppy
says'!

3. When the music is playing, press the five
Piano Keys to jam along to the tune! When
there is no music playing, press the piano
keys to create your own music!
4. Press and turn the Turning Wheels to hear
wacky sounds and funny phrases!
5. Shake the Phone and hear it rattle!
Learning Mode

ASSEMBLY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Push in and unscrew the two fasteners at
the top of the walker.
2. Insert the legs into the slots with the wheels
facing outwards, as shown in the diagram.

3. Gently pull the legs back until they click into
place. Please ensure the legs are fully
inserted into the slots.
4. Stand the walker upright and insert the
handle into the slots to secure the legs.
5. Push and screw the fasteners back into
place. Pull back on the legs to ensure they
are secure.

1. T o remove the activity panel from the walker,
locate the blue release lock above the
On/Off Switch.
2. Slide the lock up and lift the activity panel,
removing it from the walker.
3. The activity panel has a convenient handle
and lots of activities for on-the-go learning
fun!

CARE AND MAINTENANCE
1. Keep the unit clean by wiping it with a slightly damp cloth.
2. Keep the unit out of direct sunlight and away from any direct heat
source.
3. Remove the batteries when the unit is not in use for an extended
period of time.
4. Do not drop the unit on hard surfaces and do not expose the unit to
moisture or water.
TROUBLESHOOTING
If for some reason the program/activity stops working, please follow
these steps:
Care & Maintenance/Troubleshooting
1. Please turn the unit OFF.
2. Interrupt the power supply by removing the batteries.
3. Let the unit stand for a few minutes, then replace the batteries.

4. Turn the unit ON. The unit should now be ready to play again.
5. If the product still does not work, replace with a new set of batteries.
