GETTING STARTED
1. PLAN YOUR AUDIO SYSTEM
Your SX Sync acts as the source for rear surround speakers within an SX Dolby Digital surround
sound system. This product is specifically designed to connect ONLY to the SX Soundbar in cases
where in-ceiling speakers (connected to an amplifier with RCA input connections) are preferred
over SX Speakers to create a 5.1 surround sound experience.
2. INSTALLATION REQUIREMENTS
The SX Sync will need to be close enough to the SX Soundbar in order to stay connected successfully via radio frequency technology. It is suggested that the SX Sync and SX Soundbar remain
within 100 feet of each other if the signal is needing to transmit through walls. That distance is
extended by 3x if the products are within line of sight.
If the connected amplifier cannot be within 100 feet of the soundbar, it is suggested to run RCA
cable from the amplifier to a location that is within 100 feet of the soundbar and has a power plug
for powering the SX Sync.
3. DOWNLOAD THE VSSL APP
Once you’re ready to set up your SX product, download the app from the
app store on your mobile device. Open the app, press the “Add Product”
button, and we’ll guide you through pairing the SX Sync to your SX
Soundbar.
WATCHING TV
The VSSL SX Series allows you to listen to your TV’s audio AND your favorite streaming music within
a single, sleek design. The VSSL app will guide you on setting up your SX Sync and surround
speakers for TV and the Dolby Digital surround sound experience. When your SX Soundbar is
playing, so are the in-ceiling speakers connected to the SX Sync.
PLAYING MUSIC
Listening to music with VSSL is easy. Just play music in your favorite music streaming app, choose
your preferred streaming method, and select the SX Zone you want to play to. The surround
speakers connected to the SX Sync will then play whatever the rest of your paired SX products are
playing.
SETUP IN THE VSSL APP
With your SX Sync plugged into power, you will need to indicate in the VSSL app that you are ready
to pair. Simply press the “Add Product” button on the Settings Homepage, follow the instructions for
holding the pair button, then choose which SX Soundbar you’d like to pair it to.
The SX Sync requires an SX Soundbar in order to participate in streaming audio and playing Dolby
Digital surround content. You can find all configuration settings for the SX Sync and connected
speakers within the settings of its paired group.

TROUBLESHOOTING
SX SYNC WILL NOT PAIR SUCCESSFULLY
SX Sync won’t stop blinking (slowly nor quickly) even though I’ve followed the app steps.
Move the SX Sync and SX Soundbar closer to each other. A longer RCA cable might be
1.
necessary to run back to the amplifier. Temporarily relocate the SX Sync to a power outlet near
the SX Soundbar to prove the products will pair.
In the VSSL app, enter the pairing instructions again and follow instructions. Ensure that the SX
2.
Soundbar light bar blinks green during the pairing process.
Hard close the VSSL app on your mobile device and attempt the pairing process once again.
3.
Hold the pair button for 5-10 seconds until the blue LED begins to flash quickly and finish the
pair process within the app.
NO MUSIC OUTPUT TO SPEAKERS
The SX Sync LED is solid blue, but no music can be heard from the speakers.
Ensure the LED on the front of the device is solid blue and not slowly blinking.
1.
Open the VSSL app to make sure the zone you're playing to is not muted and the volume is
2.
turned up high enough to hear.
Within the SX group’s surround settings, ensure that the TV Level and Music Level settings
3.
are set high enough to hear.
Ensure that the RCA cable at the SX Sync’s analog outputs and the amplifier’s analog inputs
4.
are fully connected.
AUDIO INTERMITTENTLY STOPS AND RESTARTS
The SX Sync LED switches between solid blue and slow blinking, and audio is spotty.
Ensure that the RCA cable is fully connected at the SX Sync’s analog output connectors and
1.
the amplifier’s analog input connectors.
Try reducing the possibility of wireless interference by moving other IoT devices away from
2.
both the SX Sync and SX Soundbar.
Move the SX Sync and SX Soundbar closer to each other. A longer RCA cable might be
3.
necessary. Temporarily relocate the SX Sync to a power outlet near the SX Soundbar to prove
the LED light remains blue.
If using a VSSL amplifier, ensure that Source Priority is set to Local First and that Analog

Input Sensitivity has been enabled.
BLUE LIGHT IS DEAD
Even after plugging into power, the blue LED light will not turn on.
Ensure the power cord is fully inserted into the back of the SX Sync.
1.
Only use the power adapter and USB cable provided in the packaging.
2.
Perform a factory reset by holding in the reset button for at least 10 seconds.
