PREPPING YOUR NEW TOOL
INSERTING THE BATTERY
- To insert the AAA lithium battery, first ensure that the trimmer is switched off, T hen remove the battery compartmen t cover at the back of the appliance by pulling straight down (Fig.1). Insert the AA A lithium battery, negative end up.
- If the appliance remains unused for a while or if the ba ttery has run down, remove from the appliance. This will increase the life of the trimmer.
- After inserting the bat tery, replace the battery compartment cover.
- Always purchase the correct size and grade of battery most suitable for intended use.
- Clean the battery contacts and also those of the appliance prior to battery installation.
- Ensure the battery is installed correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -).
- Exhausted batteries are to be removed from the appliance and safely disposed of.
- When the batter y has run down, it should be disposed of at a recyc ling centre to safeguard the environment. If the batter y leaks avoid touching and dispose of at a rec ycling centre.
- Non-rechargeable batteries are not to be recharged.
- Do not mix old and new batteries. Do not mix alkaline, standard (carton zinc), or rechargeable (nickel cadmium) batteries.
- Store unused bat teries in their original packaging, away from metal objects that could short-circuit them. Never short-circuit batteries.
