ATTENZIONE
Avvertenze generali
• Le norme di questo libretto spiegano l’installazione , l’utilizzo e la
manutenzione corretti per il prodotto. Seguire tutte queste indicazioni per
assicurare la sua durata, la sua affidabilità elettrica e meccanica.
Conservare sempre questo libretto d’istruzioni.
• Non usare questo prodotto per una funzione differente da quella prevista.
• Dopo aver tolto il prodotto dal suo imballo, assicurarsi della sua integrità: nel
dubbio rivolgersi subito a persona professionalmente qualificata. Non
lasciare le parti dell’imballo alla portata di bambini od incapaci.
• Se il prodotto cade o riceve forti colpi farlo verificare subito presso un Centro
di Assistenza Tecnica autorizzato.
• L’uso di qualsiasi apparecchio elettrico comporta l’osservanza di alcune
regole fondamentali, tra le quali:
- non deve essere toccato con mani bagnate o umide;
- non deve essere toccato a piedi nudi;
- non deve essere usato da bambini od incapaci.
• Collegare il prodotto alla rete di alimentazione /presa elettrica solo se:
- i dati elettrici della rete corrispondono a quelli riportati in targa;
la targa è situata all’interno dell’involucro sul fondo.
- la portata dell’impianto/presa è adeguata alla sua potenza massima.
In caso contrario rivolgersi subito a persona professionalmente qualificata.
• Non lasciare l’apparecchio inultilmente acceso: spegnere il suo interruttore
quando non è utilizzato.
• Prima di effettuare qualsiasi operazione di pulizia o manutenzione ,
spegnere l’interruttore dell’apparecchio. Rivolgersi subito ad un Centro di
Assistenza Tecnica autorizzato e richiedere, per l’eventuale riparazione,
l’uso di ricambi originali Vortice.
• Quando si decida di eliminare l’apparecchio, spegnere l’interruttore
dell’impianto e, poi, scollegare l’apparecchio dalla rete elettrica. Riporre
infine il prodotto in luogo inacessibile a bambini e incapaci.
• L’impianto elettrico a cui è collegato il prodotto deve essere conforme alle
Norme vigenti.
Attenzione!
L’installazione deve essere effettuata da persona provvista della
specifica abilitazione a svolgere attività impiantistica, conseguita
secondo le modalità previste dalle leggi (Legge 46/90).
L’installazione deve essere inoltre eseguita conformemente alle
prescrizioni di legge in vigore che disciplinano l’impiego di “cappe
aspiranti” in locali come cucine, nelle quali sono utilizzati apparecchi a
gas (Norma UNI CIG 7129) (es. piani di cottura, scaldacqua). Ossia deve
essere controllata l’esistenza (o praticata) dell’apertura di ventilazione
del locale di sezione netta come indicato nelle sopracitate prescrizioni.
La valvola a farfalla deve essere montata solo in quei paesi dove la normativa
di sicurezza lo richieda espressamente. È compito e responsabilità
dell’installatore procedere nel modo corretto.
Avvertenze generali particolari
• L’apparecchio è costruito a regola d’arte.
• Non lasciare l’apparecchio esposto ad agenti atmosferici (pioggia, sole ecc.)
• Le possibili applicazioni dell’apparecchio sono illustrate alla Fig. 2.
• Non sedersi o appoggiare oggetti sull’apparecchio.
• Non immergere l’apparecchio o sue parti in acqua o altri liquidi (salvo
quanto esposto nel capitolo “Pulizia”).
Prima di usare il prodotto, leggere attentamente queste istruzioni.
Vortice non può essere considerata responsabile per eventuali danni
a persone o cose causati dalla non applicazione delle avvertenze
ed istruzioni contenute in questo libretto.

• Non utilizzare l’apparecchio in presenza di sostanze o vapori infiammabili
come alccol, insetticidi, benzina, ecc.
• L’apparecchio deve essere correttamente collegato ad un efficace impianto
di messa a terra, come previsto dalle vigenti norme di sicurezza elettrica. In
caso di dubbio, richiedere un controllo accurato da parte di personale
professionalmente qualificato.
• All’installazione occorre prevedere un interruttore onnipolare con distanza di
apertura dei contatti uguale o superiore a mm 3.
• Lasciare libere le due bocche di aspirazione e mandata dell’apparecchio, in
modo da assicurare l’ottimale passaggio dell’aria.
•È indispensabile assicurare il necessario rientro dell’aria nel locale per
garantire il funzionamento del prodotto. Nel caso in cui nello stesso locale
sia installato un apparecchio funzionante a combustibile (scaldacqua,
stufa a metano ecc.) non del tipo stagno, assicurarsi che il rientro d’aria
garantisca anche la perfetta combustione di tale apparecchio.
• L’apparecchio deve scaricare in condotto singolo destinato
specificamente per lo scarico dei prodotti della combustione generati
dagli apparecchi di cottura o direttamente all’esterno.
•È indispensabile provvedere alla pulizia periodica del filtro onde
evitare possibili rischi d’incendio.
Norme d’uso
1) Il bordo inferiore del VORT KAPPA deve distare dal piano di cottura 80 cm.
min. (Fig. 1).
2) L’aspiratore deve essere messo in funzione all’inizio della cottura dei cibi.
3) Allo scopo di eliminare totalmente gli odori ed i vapori residui dopo che si è
terminato di cucinare, è necessario lasciare in funzione l’aspiratore ancora
per 10-15 minuti.
Funzionamento
L’aria aspirata attraverso un filtro multiplo di alluminio, che ha il compito di
proteggere dall’imbrattamento il gruppo motoventilatore, viene scaricata
all’esterno o nella canna di esalazione mediante una tubazione del diametro
di cm. 10.
Modalità di installazione
1) Svitare il pomolo (C) e togliere il filtro (A) (Fig. 3).
2) Separare il portamotore (B) dall’involucro (D) togliendo le viti (E) (Fig. 4).
3) Per il fissaggio dell’involucro (D) al pensile si può procedere in 3 modi (Fig. 5).
Tipo a) Eseguire n° 4 fori Ø 5 max nel cielo del pensile, in corrispondenza
dei fori (F), dell’involucro (D) e bloccare lo stesso, con le 4 viti autofilettanti
e le 4 rosette in dotazione.
Tipo b) Eseguire N° 4 Ø 5 max nel cielo del pensile in corrispondenza dei
fori (G) dell’involucro (D) e bloccare lo stesso con le 4 viti M4 x 35, i 4 dadi
e le 4 rosette in dotazione.
Tipo c) Infilare le 4 viti autofilettanti in dotazione nei fori (G) dell’involucro
(D), e avvitare a fondo nel cielo del pensile.
N.B. Per l’installazione sotto la cappa a vetro, non eseguire il fissaggio tipo c).
4) Eseguire il collegamento elettrico:
a) sfondare il diaframma pretranciato (L) sul lato della fascia che meglio
interessa. Inserire il gommino in dotazione nel foro prodotto e introdurre il
cavo di alimentazione (Fig. 6).
Collegare alla morsetta secondo gli schemi indicati e serrare il cavo sotto
l’apposito serracavo contenuto nel sacchetto accessori.
b) Schema (Fig. 7) x VORT KAPPA a 2 velocità (N1 = velocità minima)
c) Schema (Fig. 8) x VORT KAPPA con Electronic Control.
5) Riposizionare il portamotore (B) avendo cura di serrare adeguatamente le
viti (E), il filtro (A) e avvitare il pomolo (C).
Pulizia
Il VORT KAPPA è provvisto di filtro meccanico sulla bocca di aspirazione. Per
la pulizia di detto filtro si consiglia di seguire le seguenti istruzioni:
1) Togliere l’alimentazione elettrica all’apparecchio.
2) Togliere il filtro (A) dell’apparecchio, secondo le indicazioni di (Fig. 3).
3) Lavare il filtro (A) con detersivo neutro, oppure in lavastoviglie, facendo
attenzione a non deformarlo.
4) Pulire il piano del portamotore (B).
5) Rimettere il filtro (A) nella propria sede.
6) Ripristinare l’alimentazione elettrica.

CAUTION
General Considerations
• The norms indicated in this booklet explain the correct installation, operation
and maintenance of this unit. Follow all these indications to assure unit
electrical reliability, mechanical reliability and long service life. Keep this
instruction manual in a safe place.
• This unit is not to be used for any other purpose than for that for which is
designed.
• After having unpacked the unit, inspect it carefully to see that it has not
undergone any damage. If you have any doubts, immediately contact a
qualified technician. Do not leave any of the packing material within reach of
children or inexperienced persons.
• If the unit has been dropped or has received a sharp blow, have it
immediately inspected by an authorized service center.
• The use of any electrical equipment requires following certain basic rules,
including the following:
• Never touch this equipment with wet or humid hands.
• Never let children or inexperienced persons operate the equipment.
• Do not connect the unit to the mains unless:
- the mains electrical data correspond to the data shown on the unit’s data
plate, which is located on the lower side part of the housing;
- the mains and the outlet are adequate for the power required by the unit.
If these conditions are not met, immediately contact a qualified technician.
• Always turn off the unit when you are not using it.
• Before carrying out any cleaning or maintenance operations, turn off the
unit’s main switch. If any repairs are required, immediately contact an
authorized service center. If any replacements are necessary, always
request the use of original Vortice spare parts.
• When discontinuing the use of the unit, turn off the main switch and
disconnect the unit from the mains. Store the unit in a safe place out of
reach of children and inexperienced persons.
• The mains to which the unit is connected must conform to the existing norms.
Caution!
The unit must not be installed by anyone who is not technically
qualified in accordance with Law 46/90.
Furthermore, the unit must be installed in accordance with the existing
laws that cover the use of “exhaust hoods” in places such as kitchens
where appliances covered by the UNI CIG 7129 norm are used (gas
stoves, water heaters, etc.). In other words, if a ventilation opening does
not already exist in the room, one must be made. The cross-section of
the opening must be as prescribed in the aforesaid regulations.
The butterfly valve must only be installed in countries where the safety norms
specifically require it. The installer is responsible for seeing that the installation
is made correctly.
Special Precautions
• The unit is constructed in accordance with good practice.
• The unit must not be exposed to weather of any kind, as well as strong
sunlight.
• The unit can be installed in various ways, as shown in Fig. 2.
• Never sit on the unit or place any objects on it.
• Never immerse the unit or any of its parts in water or other liquid (except
as indicated in the “Cleaning” section).
Before operating this unit, carefully read these instructions.
Vortice cannot assume liability for any property damage or personal
injury resulting from the lack of or improper application of the
precautions and instructions contained in this booklet.

• Never operate the unit in the presence of inflammable materials and/or
fumes (alcohol, insecticides, benzene, etc.).
• As provided by the norms regarding electrical safety, the unit must be
correctly connected to an effective electrical ground system. In case of any
doubt, have a qualified technician carefully inspect the system.
• Installation of the unit also requires installing a single-pole switch whose
contact gap measures at least 3 mm.
• The unit’s intake and outlet ports must be left unobstructed so as to assure
proper airflow.
• Sufficient air must be allowed to enter the room to have the unit
function properly. If there are other fuel-burning units in the room that
are not airtight (gas stove, water heater, etc.) make sure enough air
gets into the room to permit proper combustion.
• The unit must exhaust either directly to the outside or into a single
duct specifically installed to carry off the products of combustion
produced by the cooking appliances.
• The unit’s filter must be cleaned periodically to keep it from becoming
a fire hazard.
Usage Rules
1) The edge of the VORT KAPPA must be at least 80 cm. from the cooking
surface (Fig. 1).
2) The exhaust fan must be turned on at the beginning of the cooking operation.
3) When the cooking operation has been completed, the exhaust fan must be
left on for another 10 or 15 minutes to completely eliminate residual
cooking odors and vapors.
Function
The air is sucked in through a multiple aluminum filter which protects the
motor-ventilator unit from becoming soiled. The air is discharged either directly
to the outside or through a 10 cm. diameter tube connected to the flue.
Installation
1) Unscrew the knob ( C) and remove the filter (A) (Fig. 3).
2) Remove the screws (E) (Fig. 4) and the motor-holder ( R) from the housing (D).
3) The housing (D) can be secured to the overhang in one of the following
three ways (Fig. 5).
a) Make four holes (5 mm dia. max) in the ceiling of the overhang
corresponding to the holes (F) in the housing (D). Secure the housing with
the four supplied self-tapping screws and lock washers.
b) Make four holes (5 mm dia. max) in the ceiling of the overhang
corresponding to the holes (G) in the housing (D). Secure the housing with
the four supplied M4x35 screws, nuts and lock washers.
c) Insert the four supplied self-tapping screws into the holes (G) in the
housing (D) and screw down into the ceiling of the overhang.
NOTE: Do not use this method for installing under the glass hood.
4) Make the electrical connections.
a) Puncture the pretraced diaphragm (1) on the side of the strip that is most
suitable. Insert the supplied grommet into the produced hole and introduce
the feed wire (Fig. 6).
Connect to the terminal as shown in the diagrams provided and tighten the
cable below the cable clamp contained in the accessories bag.
b) Diagram (Fig. 7) x 2-speed VORT KAPPA (N1 = minimum speed)

5) Reposition the motor support (B), remembering to firmly tighten the
screws (E), the filter (A) and the knob (C).
Cleaning
The VORT KAPPA has a mechanical filter mounted on the intake port.To
clean this filter proceed as follows:
1) Disconnect the appliance from electrical supply.
2) Remove the filter (A) and indicated in the instructions (Fig. 3).
3) Wash the filter (A) with neutral detergent or in a washing machine, taking
care not to deform it.
4) Clean the motor-holder shelf (B).
5) Put the filter (A) back in its original position.
6) Restore power supply.

Vortice ne pourra pas être tenue responsable des éventuels dommages
aux personnes ou aux choses provoqués par le non-respect des
avertissement et des instructions que contient cette notice.
Instructions générales
• Les normes de cette notice expliquent l’installation, l’utilisation et l’entretien
corrects de ce produit. Suivre toutes ces indications pour en assurer la
durée et la fiabilité électrique et mécanique, et donc toujours conserver cette
notice d’instructions.
• Ne pas utiliser ce produit pour une fonction autre que celle pour laquelle il a
été prévu.
• Après avoir ôté le produit de son emballage, s’assurer qu’il est intact; en cas de
doute, s’adresser immédiatement à du personnel professionnellement qualifié.
Ne pas laisser de partie d’emballage à la portée des enfants ou de handicapés.
• Si le produit tombe ou reçoit des coups violents, le faire vérifier
immédiatement par un centre d’assistance technique autorisé.
• L’utilisation de tout appareil électrique requiert l’observation de quelques
règles fondamentales, dont entre autres:
- ne pas le toucher avec les mains mouillées ou humides;
- ne pas le toucher pieds nus;
- ne pas le laisser utiliser par des enfants ou des handicapés.
• Ne connecter le produit au réseau électrique/prise de courant que si:
- les données électriques du secteur correspondent à celles indiquées sur
la plaque); la plaque se trouve à l’intérieur du boîtier sur le fond.
- la portée de l’installation/prise est adaptée à sa puissance maximum.
Dans le cas contraire, s’adresser immédiatement à du personnel
professionnellement qualifié.
• Ne pas laisser l’appareil inutilement allumé: couper l’interrupteur quand on
ne l’utilise pas.
• Avant toute opération de nettoyage ou d’entretien, couper l’interrupteur de
l’appareil. S’adresser immédiatement à un centre d’assistance technique
autorisé et demander, pour la réparation éventuelle, l’utilisation de pièces de
rechange Vortice d’origine.
• Quand on décide d’éliminer l’appareil, couper l’interrupteur de l’installation
puis débrancher l’appareil du secteur. Ranger le produit dans un endroit
inaccessible aux enfants et aux handicapés.
• L’installation électrique à laquelle est branché le produit doit être conforme
aux normes en vigueur.
Attention!
L’installation doit être faite par du personnel muni d’une habilitation
spécifique pour exercer des activités d’installation obtenue selon les
modalités prévues par les lois (Loi 46/90).
L’installation doit en outre être effectuée conformément aux
prescriptions de la loi en vigueur qui réglementent l’utilisation de
“hottes aspirantes” dans les locaux comme les cuisines dans lesquels
on utilise des appareils à gaz (Norme UNI CIG 7129) (ex. plans de
cuisson, chauffe-eaux). Autrement dit on doit vérifier s’il existe (ou
pratiquer) l’ouverture de ventilation du local avec une section nette
comme indiqué dans les prescriptions ci-dessus.
La vanne papillon ne doit être montée que dans les pays où les normes de
sécurité l’exigent expressément. Procéder de façon correcte est le devoir et la
responsabilité de l’installateur.
Instructions particulières
• L’appareil est construit dans les règles de l’art.
• Ne pas laisser l’appareil exposé aux agents atmosphériques (pluie, soleil, etc...).
• Les applications possibles de l’appareil sont illustrées à la Fig. 2.
• Ne pas s’asseoir ou poser d’objets sur l’appareil.
