When designing the interior of our cars, we apply the same principles you would when designing a living room. High-quality materials, intelligent use of space and attention to detail work together to create a warm, inviting environment. Everyone who travels in the XC60 gets the same standards of comfor t, space, light and design.

Excep tional seating is at the hea rt of the experience . We build all our seats to g ive the same high standards of comfort and support, with plenty of adjustment so everyone can find a position that suits them.

The design of the interior is as impor tant as the way it’s built. Light floods in during the day and stars twinkle at night through the standa rd Panoramic Mo onroof. It makes the c abin bright, airy and ex pansive. Red ucing the number of but tons and switches creates a feel of unclut tered calm. And the clever use of space, such as the storage compar tments under the rear seats, is t ypical Scandinavia n ingenuity. They’re just the right size to store electronic dev ices, like a table t, out of sight.

Unlock th e car and the door handles light up to make get ting into th e XC60 quick and e asy. At night, the cabin glows with the warmth of its interior lighting, welcoming you into the car.

CleanZone technology means the air you breathe inside the car is clean and fresh, regardless of the air quality outside the vehicle. It filters dust, pollen, particulates and odors while monitoring the air quality and closing the intakes if pollutant levels rise too high. It happens automa tically – all y ou need to do is set the temperature you want an d the XC60 doe s the rest.

Even get ting into the XC 60 is easy – you can ope n the powered tailg ate by waving your fo ot under the rear bumper. Inside you’ll find a large, evenly shaped load compartment that makes it easy to accommodate irregular-sized objects. Fold the se ats at the push of a button and you get a f ully flat load floor – and you c an do this from the rear of the car, so you don’t h ave to open the door s to fold the seat s.

A loading hatch in the seats means you don’t have to fold the seats to carry long objects, so you can still carr y passengers. And, to make your XC60 even more useful, add extra equipment from our range of accessories, which are designed to complement the car’s interior.

The touchscreen blends se amlessly with t he car’s clean interior design and is easily operated. You can even use it wearing gloves.

Essential driving information is clearly presented in our 12.3 " Digital Driver Display. It adapts to your needs, preferences and surrounding light, so information is always shown on your terms.

For even be tter control, our Graphical He ad-Up Display projects vital driver information at a comfortable viewing distan ce. It looks as if the graphics hove r in front of t he car, which allows you to st ay informed wit hout taking your eyes off the road.

Your personal assistant

The Volvo On Call app connects your car with the rest of your world, helping make li fe less complicated. It’s there when you need it, so your car becomes more than just a means of travel – it ’s your personal assistant.

You can use it to make your car ready for the drive to the of ﬁce, or the drive home, by using remote star t to heat or cool the cabin. It can even accept packages on your behalf. You can sync your Volvo On C all app with your calendar, so if you’ve got appointments it will tell your car where they are and how to get there. And it keeps you safe, automatically contacting emergency services if you’re involved in an accident and telling them where you are.

Our latest advances in semi-autonomous driving technologies allow you to enjoy smooth, intuitive driving from st andstill up to highway speeds.

To make driving in demanding traf fic less stressful, we offer Pilot Assist and Adaptive Cruise Control. This means your Vol vo automat ically helps you maintain a safe dist ance from the car in front of you by adapting your speed while helping to keep you centered in the lane by automatically making small steering adjus tments. With advanced p roactive safety technology we add extra powe r to your senses and e nhance the conf ident feeling of being in c ontrol.

At the heart of our safet y technologies is City Safet y. By helping you to keep a lookout and brake or steer away if necessary, it makes driv ing more enjoyable while helping to prevent accidents.

City Safety can identify other vehicles, pedestrians, cyclists and large animals ahead of you, even at night. It warns you if needed and can brake automatically to help you avoid a collision or reduce the impact. And our advanced Oncoming Mitigation by Braking technology – a Volvo safety world first – can detect if there’s another vehicle driving towards you and brakes automatically to help mitigate the impact.

Your Volvo can also p rovide suppor t if you’re forced into a rapid evasive act ion at speeds between 31 and 62 mph. As you begin to steer away, Cit y Safety can help you do it as effectively and safely as possible by braking the inner wheels individually and reinforcing your steering input.

City Safet y is simply your per fect co-pilot: proactive when it ’s needed, and staying discreetly in the background the rest of the time.

Oncoming Lane Mitigation

Using auto matic stee ring assist ance, this system h elps you avoid co llisions with oncomin g vehicles. I f you drift a cross the lane mark ings in the way of a n oncoming vehicle , your car stee rs back.

Lane Keeping Aid

If you’re ab out to cross a lane m arking un intentionally, the Lane Keeping Aid will gently stee r your car back in to its lane. I f this is not e nough or you kee p steering across th e lane marking s, you’ll be ale rted with vibrations in the steering wheel.

Run-Off Road Mitigation

Full-LED Headlights with Auto High Beam

To give you the best view, our Full-LED headlights allow you to drive with the high beams on all the time, without blinding others. It detects road users ahead of you and automatically switches to low beam lights to avoid blinding them.

A legacy of safety

In 1959, Volvo Cars engineer Nils Bohlin created the world’s first 3-point seat belt. Knowing that this innovation was too important to keep to ourselves, Volvo Cars waived the patent rights so that everybody could benefit. Since then, it’s estimated that over one million lives have been saved as a result of this Volvo Cars innovation.

In a Volvo, you can enjoy smooth parking.

When parking, you’re suppor ted by front and rear park-assist sensors that alert you if there are obst acles in your way. And by adding our 360° SurroundView Camera, you get a detailed bird’s-eye view of the area surrounding your Volvo – a great help when you reverse or maneuver in conﬁned areas with impaired visibility.

If you want, our Park Assist Pilot can park the car for you. It measures the parking space, and if the space is at least 1.2 times the length of your car, it can park by taking over the steering. Park A ssist Pilot handles both parallel and perpendicular parking, and can also assist when leaving a tight parallel-parking parking space.

And to make it easier when you reverse out of a parking space, Cross Traffic Alert helps you keep a lookout for approaching vehicles in your blind sectors.
