Prescribed Use
The thermometer measures the temperature via a high-grade steel piercing sensor in the range
0 to +200°C. The measuring temperature may only be measured at the sensor tip. The insertion sensor may be used for liquids and compact substances.
In addition, the min. and max. value can be selected in the display. The temperature unit is
switchable from °Celsius to °Fahrenheit.
The thermometer may not be left in running microwaves or heated ovens. This will damage the
device. The plastic housing (handle with display) must not come into contact with water. Avoid
operating the product with damp or wet hands.
The thermometer is operated by a battery and requires a micro battery (AAA).
Do not use in explosive areas or on persons or animals.
Any other use other than that described above is not permitted, it could cause damage to the
product and personal injury. No part of the product must be modified or rebuilt!

Please read all of the operating instructions before using the product for the
first time; they contain important information about correct operation.
The warranty will be void in the event of damage caused by failure to observe
these safety instructions! We do not assume any liability for any consequential damage!

will be void in such cases.
This device left the manufacture’s factory in a safe and perfect condition.
We kindly request the user to observe the safety instructions and warnings contained in the
enclosed operating instructions so this condition is maintained and to ensure safe operation.
Please pay attention to the following symbols:

This device conforms to CE and meets the necessary European regulations.
The unauthorized conversion and/or modification of the product is inadmissible for reasons of
safety and approval (CE).
Avoid strong mechanical stress, vibrations or blows.
Keep the unit out of the reach of children. It is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children!
During breaks or while storing the product, the protective cap must be placed on the piercing
sensor. Risk of injury!
Use heat-protection gloves if you take measurements of hot objects. Do not touch the sensor
immediately after a reading. Let the sensor cool down first before you touch or clean it.
Do not leave packaging material unattended. It may become dangerous playing material for
children.
On industrial sites, the accident prevention regulations of the association of the industrial workers’ society for electrical equipment and utilities must be followed.

Start-up
Inserting / replacing battery
For initial startup the battery enclosed must be inserted. A battery change is necessary if the
product cannot be switched on any more.
Proceed as follows to replace the battery:
Open the battery compartment (8) on the rear side by pushing the lid in arrow direction and
remove it from the device.
Now place a new battery into the battery compartment, observing the correct polarity. Pay
attention to the polarity indication in the battery compartment.
Close the battery compartment carefully.
Tip: A suitable battery can be ordered using the order no. 65 25 00. Please order 1 battery.
Switching the thermometer on and off
Press the „ON/OFF“ button (1) to turn on. After a short time, the current temperature at the sensor is displayed. The measuring sensor is located in the area of the first 5 cm on the tip.
After a while the thermometer switches off automatically in order to save the battery. However,
you may turn on or off the device at any time by pressing the key „ON/OFF“ again.
Selecting the measuring unit
Press the key „°C/°F“ while the thermometer is turned on. Every time you press, you switch the
measuring unit. The selected unit is shown on the display.
Max/Min measuring display
The thermometer saves the maximum and minimum temperature automatically after each startup. This measurement memory can be displayed by using the key „MAX/MIN“. Every time you
press this key, the display switches from Max. value to Min. value and so on. After a few seconds, the device automatically switches back to the normal measuring mode.
Clearing the MIN/MAX memory
The saved Max. and Min. values can be deleted via the key „CLEAR“ (3).
Select the Max. or Min. values that you wish to delete by using the „MAX/MIN“ key and then
press the key „CLEAR“. The display will be deleted and „—-„ is shown. To delete the second
value, select it with the „MAX/MIN“ key and then press the button „CLEAR“ again. After a short
while, the thermometer switches automatically to measuring mode.
Maintenance and Cleaning
The outside of the device should only be cleaned with a soft, damp cloth or a brush. Never use
aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions since these might damage the surface of the
casing or impair the operation. Clean the sensor thoroughly before using it on food.
Disposal
Electronic products are raw materials and do not belong in household waste.
When the device has reached the end of its service life, please dispose of it,
according to the current statutory requirements, at your local collecting site.
Disposal in the domestic waste is not permitted!
Disposal of used batteries/rechargeable batteries!
As a consumer you are required (Battery Ordinance) to responsibly dispose of all used batteries and rechargeable batteries; it is forbidden to throw them away with the normal
household waste!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to
indicate that disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden. The
symbols for the
heavy metals concerned are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg
= mercury, Pb = lead.
You can dispose of your used batteries free of charge at your community’s collection point or any place where batteries are sold!
You thus fulfil the legal requirements and make your contribution to protecting the environment!
