How To Use The Currency Converter
How To Clear The Display
NOTE: This will not clear the programmed exchange rate. The exchange
rate remains in memory until you program a new rate or change the
battery.
1. Press once on the ON/C button.
NOTE: The exchange rate is the amount of foreign currency needed to buy one (1)
U.S. dollar.
1.Turn on by pressing the ON/C button. Be sure the solar cell is exposed to an
indoor or outdoor light source. A “0” will show in the display. NOTE: Do not
cover the solar cell with your hand when holding the currency converter.
2.To set a foreign currency exchange rate: Enter the amount of foreign currency

needed to buy one (1) U.S. dollar. Press the

is set. To check the programmed foreign

exchange rate, enter “1” then press the FOREIGN CURRENCY button and the
set rate will appear in the display with the indicator across from FC. (Example:
If the foreign currency exchange rate = 6.583, enter 6.583, then press
PROGRAM CURRENCY.) NOTE: The foreign currency exchange rate will stay

in the memory until you program a new rate.
3.To convert foreign currency to U.S. currency: Once the exchange rate is

programmed (Step 2 above), enter a foreign
currency amount, then press the US$ button.
(Example: If the foreign currency amount is 100,
enter 100, then press US$.) When the exchange rate in Step 2 is used, the
display will read 15.19 which is the amount in U.S. dollars.

4.To convert a U.S. currency to foreign currency: Once the exchange rate is

programmed (Step 2 above), enter a U.S.
currency amount, then press the FOREIGN
CURRENCY button. (Example: If the U.S. currency
amount is $100, enter 100, then press FOREIGN CURRENCY.) When the
exchange rate in Step 2 is used, the display will read 658.3 which is the amount
in foreign currency.
NOTE: In the currency converter mode pressing the CE button will remove the
US$ or FC indicator from the display. The display entry will remain.

How To Read The Display
On the left side of the display, a lower dot indicates the answer is in U.S.
currency; an upper dot indicates the answer is in the Foreign Currency (FC).
How To Use As A Calculator
NOTE: When using as a calculator DO NOT press the PROGRAM
CURRENCY, FOREIGN CURRENCY or US$ button.
Clear the display by pressing the ON/C button. Proceed with calculation.
Clear Last Entry: Press the CE button.
Memory: Use the M+ button to add a value to the memory. Use the M-
button to subtract a value from the memory. Use the MRC button to view
value in memory. Press the MRC button twice to clear the memory.
Percentage: To compute a percentage enter a value followed by one of the
functions you wish to perform (+, -, x, ) then enter a percentage value and
press the % button. Example: To find 25% of 200, enter 200 then press the
x button then enter 25 and press the % button. The display will show 50.
How to Shut Off
Press the OFF button.
Solar Cell
The currency converter is powered by a solar cell; no batteries are required.
The solar cell is located adjacent to the display and must be exposed to
indoor or outdoor light. DO NOT cover the solar cell with your hand when
operating.
One Year Warranty
We guarantee each new Currency Converter to be free from defects in material or workmanship and
to perform under normal use and service. This guarantee shall run for a period of one year from the
date of purchase, and obligations under this guarantee are limited to remedying any defect or
replacing any defective part and shall be effective only if the defective unit is returned to us within 12
months after purchase. Damage due to abuse or misuse is not covered by this guarantee. We shall
not be responsible for any other loss or damage that may arise through the use by a purchaser or
others of this device, and the purchaser assumes such responsibility and will hold Hybrinetics, Inc.
harmless in respect to all such loss or damage.
IMPORTANT: This is a factory direct warranty. Valid in the U.S. and North America only. Do not
return defectives to your retailer. All defectives must be returned to the factory accompanied by a
