2. Check that the plug and the cable are not damaged.

1. Check whether the dust container is full, if so empty and clean the cartridge filter if showing build up of dust residue, also inspect the exhaust filter. If severely discoloured it is to be replaced.
2. Is the nozzle, tube or hose blocked?
3. Are the filters blocked?
Blockages and dirty filters can result in the cleaner switching off in operation, due to restriction of air flow causing the activation of the thermal overload. If this does occur switch off the cleaner at the mains and remove the plug. Allow the cleaner to cool for 20 - 30 minutes. In this time check the hose, tubes and nozzle for blockages.
(a) To check for a hose blockage pass a small coin through it, on finding the blockage remove it by pressing the hose to dislodge and loosen the obstruction. How ever be careful in the case it has been caused by glass or needles caught inside the hose at the point of the blockage.
(b) By passing a flexible tube through the hose from the handle end the blockage can also be removed. If the obstruction can not be removed please consult the Blue Ribbon Service Providers listing supplied with the cleaner for your closest Volta Authorised service provider. The clearing of a blocked hose is not covered by warranty.
Water has entered the vacuum cleaner. It will be necessary to replace the motor by an authorised Volta service agent. Damage to the motor caused by the penetration of water is not covered by the warranty.
