INS-8005/INS-8008
1. Overview
The INS-8005 and INS-8008 switches are compact,
DIN-railed and used to expand the Ethernet to the
factory floor or environments with extreme conditions.
INS-8005 – 5-port 10/100Mbps Industrial Switch.
INS-8008 – 8-port 10/100Mbps Industrial Switch.
Operating temperature: 0 C~70 C
Wide Temperature Models: INS-8005W & INS-8008W
Operating temperature: -40 C~70 C
Note: The model numbers used below are INS-8005
and INS-8008, however the instructions also apply
to the "W" (wide-temperature) models.

3. Hardware Installation Procedure
STEP 1:
Remove the device from its packing.
STEP 2:
Attach the DIN Rail Kit for the INS-8005,
(DIN Rail Kit is already attached on the INS-8008)

2. Package Checklist
Before installing the INS-8005/8008, verify that the
package contains the following items:
1 INS-8005/8008 Switch
DIN Rail Kit
Warranty Card
Quick Installation Guide
Note: DIN Rail Kit is already installed with INS-8008

STEP 3:
Connect the +18~30V DC power to the power
terminal block.

Use flat-head screw driver to loosen the screw and
insert the edges of wires in the gap. Hold the wires
inside and tighten the screw to fix them well.
On the INS-8008, connect the grounding screw to
the ground wire.

STEP 4:
Connect the Ethernet (RJ-45) port to the networking
device. See the LNK/ACT LED to confirm that the
connection is established.
4. Location
The INS-8005/INS-8008 can be placed on a desktop
or horizontal surface, wall-mounted and Din-Rail-
mounted.

5. Wall-Mounted Mask of INS-8005 &
INS-8008
STEP 1: The wall-mounted direction can be straight
or horizontal.
STEP 2: Place this 1:1 drawing mask on the wall.
STEP 3: Mark the Xs on the wall at the appropriate
place.
STEP 4: Drill holes using the X marks as guides.
6. Cabling– RJ-45
The RJ-45 ports on the INS-8005/INS-8008 support
auto negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X. This feature
eliminates the worry of using specific cable types.
Category 5 cable must use Category 5 rated
connectors.
