The newest addition to the VM Audio line of loudspeakers include the VAS310P, packing convenience and application exibility into the ultra compact and high output series. The VAS310P is a 10” 3-way full range passive loudspeaker system

designed for contractor and sound reinforcement applications such as corporate

events, small or medium sized live events, performing art venues, houses of worship,

retail businesses, ball rooms, and theme parks. The VM Audio Shaker Series is the

perfect solution for a broader platform in loudspeaker applications while keeping

quality and reliability in mind.

Continuous, excessive exposure to sound pressure levels in excess of 85dB’s can cause a loss

in hearing. While VM Audio Systems are capable of producing sound pressure levels greater

Warning: If you hear a pop caused by the speaker over-exerting, lower the volume and or adjust the gain control on the amplier to prevent damage to the speaker.

The Drivers This loudspeaker system features an ecient, high powered, low frequency, 10” woofer driver with high output capability, while it also features a unique ecient horn loaded 2-Way high frequency tweeter. With the combination of these two drivers, this speaker system is capable of very high output throughout the full frequency range even when using low powered ampliers.

The Enclosure Housing the two ecient drivers is a cabinet constructed of high quality MDF wood. It was designed using the latest in loudspeaker computer software to model and skillfully tune the cabinet to the optimum tuning frequency to achieve the best performance possible.

To nish and protect the cabinet, a high resisting aviation grade type carpet is used on all six sides not only for outdoor/indoor use but to also give it that professional look and feel. To further protect the enclosure, black edge corner guards are used on all corners of the cabinet to avoid carpet damage or corner wood “chipping” in the event the enclosure is toppled or hit.

For woofer protection, custom made perforated steel grills are installed for the daily day-today harsh abuse. Convenient heavy duty high grade handles are also featured and built into the cabinet to assist with everyday lifting, moving or installation.

The Crossover This 3-way system is a passive loudspeaker system, meaning it uses an internal crossover lter that directs certain frequencies to each speaker to more eectively reproduce the full audio frequency spectrum when all speaker drivers are combined and put together as a complete system. This simply means no electronic crossovers are needed to direct specic frequencies to each speaker and only an amplier is required to get the complete sound output.

SYSTEM DESIGN

VAS310P INSTALLATION

The VAS310P is a professional loudspeaker system used for sound reinforcement applications. Its ability to reproduce high output sound levels is ideal for use in large venues and DJ type situations. These simple steps will help you install the speaker cabinet into your own sound system.

Step 1 - Place the cabinet on a solid level surface where it cannot be toppled or tilted.

Step 2 - Identify the speaker output channels on the amplier and choose the appropriate channel output on the amplier where you will connect the VAS310P. Also note the polarity of the amplier channel output.

Step 3 - Take one end of the speaker cable and connect each wire to it's appropriate polarity on the chosen amplier channel output.

Step 4 - Finally, obtain the other end of the speaker cable and connect each wire to it's appropriate polarity connector located behind the VAS310P enclosure.

Note: It is important for all the wires to be connected correctly in order to preserve appropriate sound integration.

TROUBLESHOOTING GUIDE

PROBLEM

NO AUDIO

Source unit volume is turned down or Muted

Speaker leads shorted

Speakers not connected or blown

No Audio from speaker box

Turn volume up slowly or turn Mute O

Check speaker continuity using a multimeter

Check speaker connections at amplier and at speakers

Disconnect speakers at amplier and measure the impedance with a multimeter

Check stereo source unit as well as the amplier

Check to make sure that speaker wires are securely connected to the terminals

Double check to make sure that the amplifer is stable to the ohm load you are providing

CAUSE

Gain may not be properly set

DISTORTED AUDIO

Check each individual audio component (mixer, eq, amp,) for correct gain adjustment.

Inspect each speaker cone for signs of damage (frozen cone, burnt smell, separated or ripped surround or separated spider)

Speaker cone may be damaged
