Operating instructions:
1. Plug the lead of the base into the mains.
2. Fill the kettle with water and place it level on the base so that contact is established with the power connection.
3. Switch on the kettle. The kettle cannot be switched on if it is not properly placed on the base.
4. Before generally using the kettle, fill it with water, bring to boil and then pour it away.
5. Do not fill the kettle with more than 1.5L, but at least with 0.5L of water.
6. The kettle is automatically switched off when the water boils. However, the kettle can also be turned on and off at any time with the ON/OFF switch.
7. After an adequate cooling- off period the water can once again be brought to boil by turning ON the switch.
8. The kettle can be lined off the base when the switch is in the OFF setting.
Cleaning and maintenance
1. Always disconnect the plug from the Mains before cleaning the kettle and Base. Wipe the kettle and base with a moist cloth and a drop of washing-up Liquid. Never use an aggressive scouring or steel wool.
2. De-scale the kettle regularly, possibly once a week, depending on the hardness of the water and the frequency of use. Scaling significantly diminishes the heating performance of the kettle.
3. To de-scale fill half the kettle with water and the other half with vinegar. Boil and then leave it to stand overnight. Next day pour away and fill the kettle with fresh water and boil again. This water must also be poured away.
