New level of accuracy in outdoor motion detection
Say goodbye to false alarms from outdoor installations. The TOWER-20AM outdoor
detector, available in both wired and wireless models, uses Visonic’s patented
Octa-Quad™ and black mirror technologies to provide exceptionally reliable
outdoor motion detection with virtually no false alarms.
Eight Quad detectors housed in a compact, yet robust, housing and arrayed •
in a “Star Ambush” formation. Each monitors one-eighth of the eld of view
through a recessed V-Slot
A central motion processor makes the nal decision regarding a true or false •
alarm based on intelligent algorithms and information received from all eight
Quad detectors.
Based on Visonic’s patented True Motion Recognition (TMR™) algorithm and •
Adaptive active IR outdoor anti-masking technology.
The TOWER-20AM operates reliably in harsh weather conditions – including storms
with rain, hail, snow, lighting, dust, strong winds, and also under bright sun
and car headlights – and can distinguish between moving people, swaying trees
and bushes and small animals, thereby minimizing false alarms while ensuring
effective detection of real threats.

V - S l o t® Technology – Visonic’s innovative V-Slot® is a remarkably small,
recessed concave window that provides very high resistance to environmental
interference and vandalism, while also raising sensitivity.
Market-leading optics
Combination elliptical-parabolic mirror optics• – Creates an exceptionally
efcient mirror that provides outstanding catch performance and detection
sensitivity, with longer range and high optical gain.
Obsidian Black Mirror•
a unique, nickel-based obsidian-like reective surface that acts as a
selective optical lter to infrared energy. This virtually eliminates white
light interference coming from direct sunlight or car headlights, while also
increasing detection sensitivity.
Unprecedented anti-masking protection* – Superior Active IR anti-masking
provides virtually undefeatable protection against blocking of the detector’s
eld of view. The complete IR perimeter shield protects the window from
every angle, including the creep zone; and small perimeter grooves etched
into the slot create a diffractive IR beam pattern that protects against spray
or lacquer.
