PowerCode Pendant Transmitters
,1752'8&7,21
The MCT-201 is a miniature pendant UHF t ransmitter, designed
for use in advanced, high-security alarm and remote control
systems. W hen enclosed in a waterproof case, this transmitter ’s
reference designation i s MCT-201WP. Trans mission is acti vated
by depressing the rec essed pushbutton at t he center of the uni t.
When activat ed, each transmi tter sends out a 24-bit I D code and
an alarm code, identifiable by compatible wireless receivers of
the MCR family. Each tr ansmitter's c ode is randomly selec ted in
the factory from 16 million possible combinations. The code is
therefore unique and vir tually impossi ble to reproduce.
Operating power is obtained from an internal 12-volt alkaline
battery. An LED lights during transmiss ion, indicating the bat tery
voltage condition (it lights provided that the battery voltage
exceeds 8 VDC). If the LED does not light during t ransmission,
the battery must be replaced immediately.
In addition, a transmitter with s uch a low batt ery will aut omatic ally
send a low battery code with each transmission.

C. Insert the 12-volt alkali ne battery (Duracell MN-21 or Golden
Power GP-23A or equivalent) between the battery clips, so
that the (+) and (–) markings on the battery are i n the same
direction as t he mar ki ngs on the r ear half of t he c as e ( c los e to
each battery clip) . Check that the battery i s held securely by
the battery cli ps.
D. Gently press the pushbutton switch and verify that the LED

The MCT-201WP is a waterproof version of the MCT-201
transmitter . Wat erproof units are s hipped fully as sembled but not
closed, to permi t insert ion of the batter y before final s ealing. The
case is made waterpr oof when its two hal ves are assembl ed and
secured together with 4 screws.
To prepare the unit for use, separate the tw o halves of the cas e
and lay the unit down on its back as shown in Figur e 3.

Important Notes: Visonic Ltd.’s wireless systems are very
reliable and are tested to high st andards. However, due to their
low transmitting power (required by FCC and other regulatory
authorities) there are some limitations to be considered:
A. Receivers may be blocked by radio signals occurring on or
near their operating frequencies, regardless of the code
selected.
B. A receiver can only respond to one transmitted signal at a
time.
