ZigBee Acoustic Glass Break Detector

GB-540 overview

The GB-540 is a ZigBee acoustic glass-break detecto r th at can be used with any ZigBee Home Autom ation 1.2 e nabled h ome security pane l. You can m oun t the de tector on wa lls or ceilings to dete ct the breaking of fram ed glass o n any exterior wall. The d etector senses the soun d of brea king p late, tem pered , laminated , wired, coated, and sea led insulated glass. The detector is pre-calibrated, requ ires no ad justment du ring the installation, a nd supp orts t he me asureme nt of am bient roo m tem peratu re.

1.Inserting or Replacing the Battery

1. Unfa sten the ba se screw and pressin the snap bu tton t o separate th e cover f rom the b ase.

2. Insert the ba ttery into the ba ttery clips. To rep lace th e bat tery, remove th e existing batt ery a nd replace with new b attery.

Observ e Polarity!

Caution! Risk of explosion if battery is replaced by an incorrect type. Use a 3 V Lithium CR-123 battery, Panasonic or GP battery type only. Dispose of used batteries according to manufactures instructions.

3. Replace the cover o n the b ase and fa sten with screw.

2. Activatingand Pairing the Device

1. Set the control pan el to pairing mod e, see the con trol p anel guide fo r d etails.

2. Pullt he activation strip that p rotrude s from the back o f the dete ctor.

3. Open an d close th e cover to start the ne twork search. Result: The red LED blinks for a brief time, followed by three green L ED b links.

4. Com plete the p airing proced ure on th e control pane l, see th e control pane l gu ide for details.

3. Mounting the Device

1. Fasten the mounting plate to th e wall u sing th e provided screws and anchors, th rough the m oun t ope nings. To enab le the wall ta mp er secure th e breakaw ay seg men t also to the w all.

Attention! The b ack ta mpe r switch for the GB-540 is un der the Printed Circuit Board (PCB). When the PCB is seated firmly within the base, th e switch is p ressed against the special break away base segm ent t hat is loosely con nected t o the base. Be sure to fasten , the brea k-away seg men t to the wa ll. If the de tector unit is forcibly remo ved from th e wall, th is segmen t willb reak away from the b ase, causing the ta mpe r switch to o pen.

2. Replace the cover o n the b ase and secure with screw.

4. Local Diagnostics Test

Before you test, separa te the b ase from the cover. To test replace the cover to return th e tam per switch to its normal position. The dete ctor enters a stabilization or warm-up m ode fo r 2 0 seconds followed by a netw ork stat us indication mo de. The n the final mod e is the te st m ode for 15 m inutes. See the te sting procedure fo r d etails. The net work status indicates either the n etwork search mode (green LED blinks th ree times) or received signal stren gth, see th e following table for det ails.

IMPORTANT! Reliable re ception mu st b e confirmed. The refore, "poor" signal strength is n ot accepta ble. If you receive a "poo r" signal from the device, re-locate it and re-test un til a "good " o r "strong" signal strength is received.

5. Testing Procedures

Switching the d etector to test mode

After power-up o r closing the cover, the de tector auto mat ically ente rs a 15 minu te test mo de.

A. Bas ic test

For a low f reque ncy (FLEX) test, th ump the p rotected glass with a cushioned ob ject. Th e orang e LED will light for 2 seconds. Repe at the te st if necessary.

Once you have purchased licenses for the number of copies o f the Software that you require, you may use the Softwa re and accompa nying material provided that you install and use n o more th an the licensed nu mbe r o f copies at one time. The Softw are is only licensed for use w ith specified Licensor-supplied Systems. If the Software is protecte d by a software or hardw are key or o ther device, th e Software may be used on an y com pute r o n which the key is installed. If the key locks the Software to a particular System, the Software may on ly be used on tha t System. b. Lo cally Stored Co mpo nent s. The Software may include a software code com pone nt tha t may be stored a nd op erated locally on one or more devices. a. Limitation s on Reverse Engineering and Derivative Works. You m ay n ot make any chang es o r m odifications t o any portion of th e Software, o r creat e any derivative wo rks, without the written perm ission o f an officer of Tyco (except as provided in Section 3(f) of this EULA with respect to “open source” soft ware). You may not remove an y pro prietary n otices, ma rks or labels from the Software. You shall institute reason able mea sures to ensure com pliance with the terms and conditions of this EULA by your personnel and a gen ts. b. Co pyright N otices. You m ust m aintain all copyright no tices on all copies o f the Softwa re. c.Tran sfer. You may only transfer your rights und er this EULA (i) as part of a pe rman ent sale or transfe r of a ll of the devices for which the Softwa re is licensed as a pplicable; (ii) if you tran sfer all o f the Software (including all comp one nt parts, th e m edia and printed mat erials, any upg rades and this EULA); (iii) if you do not retain any copies of a ny portion o f the Softwa re; (iv) if the re cipient agree s to the terms of this EULA; a nd (v) if the Software is an upgra de, such tran sfer m ust also include all prior versions of the Software. You agree that failure to m eet all of these conditions rende rs such transfer null a nd void. d. Termina tion. Without prejudice to any oth er rights, Tyco may terminate t his EULA if you fail t o comply with t he term s a nd conditions herein. In such e vent, you must imme diately de stroy all copies of the Software and all of its compon ent parts. To the extent the Software is embe dde d in hardware or firmware, you will provide promp t access to Tyco o r its representa tive to remo ve or lock Software fea tures or functionality a s Tyco determ ines. e. Subsequ ent EULA. Tyco may also supersede this EULA with a subseque nt EULA p ursuant to providing you with any fu ture compone nt, release, upgrad e or ot her modification o r a ddition to th e Software. Similarly, to the e xtent that the terms of this EULA con flict w ith a ny prior EULA or other agreeme nt be twee n you a nd Tyco reg arding the Softw are, the te rms of this EULA shall prevail. f. Incorpo ration of “Open Source” a nd other Third Party Softwa re. Portions of t he Softw are m ay be sub ject to certain third pa rty license agree men ts g overning the u se, copying, modification, redistribution and wa rranty of th ose portions o f the Software, including what is commo nly known as “ope n source” software . A copy of each a pplicable th ird p arty license can be fou nd in t he file README.TXT or o ther docum enta tion accom panying the Software. Such o pen source soft ware is no t subject to an y wa rranty and inde mnity set forth in th is EULA. By using the Software you are also agreeing to b e bou nd to the terms o f such th ird pa rty licenses. If provided for in the applicable th ird pa rty license, you have a right to receive source code for such softw are for u se a nd distribution in any program tha t you create, so long as you in turn agree to b e bou nd t o the te rms of th e ap plicable third pa rty license, and you r p rogram s are distribute d unde r the terms of that license. A copy o f such source code ma y be obtained free o f charge by contacting your Tyco rep resenta tive. g. Trade marks. This EULA does not grant you any rights in connection with any trad ema rks or service marks of Tyco, its af filiates or its suppliers. h. Re ntal. You may not sublicense, ren t, lease or lend the Software. You m ay not make it available to othe rs or po st it on a server or web site o r o therwise distribute it. i.Softw are Keys. The hardware/softw are key, wh ere app licable, is your proof of license to exercise the rights granted h erein an d must be ret ained by you. Lo st or sto len keys willn ot be rep laced. j.De mon stration and Evaluation Co pies. A de mon stration or evaluation copy of th e Software is covered by this EULA; provided that the licenses conta ined here in sha ll expire a t the en d of the demonstration or evaluation period. k.R egistration of Software. The Software may require registration with Tyco prior to use. If you d o not register th e Softwa re, this EULA is au tom atically term inated and you may not use the Software. l.Additiona l Restrictions. The Soft ware ma y be subject to add itional restrictions a nd conditions on use a s spe cified in the docume ntat ion accompan ying such Software , which additional restrictions and conditions are hereb y incorpo rated into an d mad e a part of this EULA. m. Up grade s a nd Upd ates. To th e extent Tyco makes the m available, Softw are up grade s a nd u pdat es ma y only b e used to replace all or part of the original Software that you are licensed to use. Softwa re upgra des and up dat es d o not increase the n umb er of copies licensed to you. If th e Software is an upgrade of a compone nt of a p ackage of Softwa re programs that you licensed as a single pro duct, the Soft ware may be used and transfe rred only as part of th at single p roduct package and m ay not be sep arated for use on more than one comp uter or System. Softwa re upgrades and upda tes downloade d free of charge via a Tyco autho rized World Wide Web or FTPsite may be used to u pgrade multiple System s pro vided that you are licensed to use the original Software on tho se Systems. n. Tools a nd Ut ilities. Softwa re distribute d via a Tyco-a utho rized World Wide Web or FTP site (or similar Tyco-authorized distribution mea ns) a s a tool or utility m ay b e copied and installed w ithout limitation provided tha t the Softwa re is not distributed or sold a nd the Software is o nly used for the inten ded p urpose of the too l o r ut ility and in conjun ction with Tyco prod ucts. All oth er terms and conditions o f this EULA continue to a pply.

4. EXPORT RESTRICTIONS. You a gree that you will not e xport, re- export or transfer any portion of the Software, o r an y direct product thereo f (the fo regoing collectively referred to as the "Restricted Co mpone nts"), t o IRAN, NORTH KOREA, SYRIA, CUBA a nd SUDAN, including any entities or persons in those countries, eithe r d irectly or indirectly (“Tyco’s Position”). You also agree that you will not export, re-e xport or transfer the Re stricted Comp onen ts t o any o ther count ries except in fu ll compliance with all ap plicable govern men tal re quiremen ts, including bu t not limited to ap plicable econ omic sanctions and constraints ad ministered by a ny Israeli governm enta l aut hority, including, bu t not limited to the Israeli M inistry o f Defen se, by a ny applicable t reaty, app licable export control measures adm inistered by I srael , U.S. Treasury D epa rtment a nd applicable e xport control measures adm inistered by the U.S. Dep artmen t of Com merce and U.S. Depa rtmen t of State, any othe r U. S. go vernme nt age ncies, a nd measures adm inistered by th e European Union or the go vernmen t agen cies of an y oth er countries. Any violation by you of the ap plicable laws or regu lations of the U. S. or any oth er governme nt, or where you breach Tyco’s Position notwithstand ing whether or not this is contrary to any aforeme ntione d ap plicable laws or regulations, willresult in autom atic t ermination of this EULA.

I N NO EVENT WILL TYCO’S AGGREGATE LI ABILITY (INCLU DING, BUT NOT LIM ITED TO, LIABILITY FOR NEGLIGENCE, STRICT L IABILITY, BREACH OF CONTRACT, MISREPRESENTATION AND OTHER CONTRACT OR TORT CLAIM S) ARISING FROM OR RELATED TO TH IS EULA, OR THE USE OF THE SOFTWARE, EXCEED THE AMOUNT OF FEES YOU PAID TO TYCO OR ITS RESELLER FOR THE SOFTWARE THAT GIVES RISE TO SUCH LIABILITY. BECAUSE AND TO THE EXTENT THAT SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW TH E EXCLUSIONS OR L IMITATIONS OF LIABILITY ABOVE, THESEM AY NOT APPLY TO YOU. b. EXCLUSION OF OTHER DAMAGES. GENERAL. If any p rovision of th is EULA is fo und to be unlawfu l, void, or for any reason u nenf orceable, then that provision shall b e severed from this EULA and shall n ot affe ct t he validity and en forceability of the rema ining provisions. You should ret ain proof o f the license f ee paid, including mod el nu mb er, serial num ber and date of payment, and present such proof of payment whe n seeking service or a ssistance covered by the warranty set forth in this EULA. This EULA is g overned b y the laws of Israel, without g iving effect t o any choice or conflict of law provision or rule tha t would cause the a pplication o f the laws of any jurisdiction o ther th an Israel. Each o f the Parties submits to th e exclusive jurisdiction o f any court sitting in Tel Aviv, Israel for pu rposes of resolving any and all disputes arising und er or related to these terms and conditions. The parties specifically exclude the a pplication o f the provisions of th e United Na tions Convention on Co ntracts for the Int ernationa l Sale of Good s.
