Der SUB PA 240 wurde für die Unterstützung
des PA 110 H entwickelt. Der hier eingesetzte 46-cm-(18“)-Tieftöner PAW 46 ist aufgrund
seiner Konstruktion mit großer und sechsfach
belüfteter Schwingspule in der Lage, auch
hohe Pegel sauber und präzise wiederzugeben. Im vorgeschlagenen Gehäuse erreicht
er einen sehr beachtlichen Schalldruckpegel
von 95 dB (1 W/1 m) bei 30 Hz unterer Grenzfrequenz.
Durch den großzügig dimensionierten Bassreflexkanal werden Strömungsverluste und
Strömungsgeräusche minimiert. Um eine gute
Stabilität des Gehäuses zu gewährleisten sind
mehrere Versteifungen vorgesehen.
Characteristics and sound properties
The SUB PA 240 was developed to support
the PA 110 H. The PAW 46, 46-cm (18“), woofer used here with its large, six-way vented
voice coil, is of a design which enables it to
work at high output levels and still maintain
clear, precise sound. In the recommended
cabinet, it manages a very impressive sound
pressure of 95 dB (1w/1m) at 30 Hz lower limiting frequency.
The large-format bass reflex tube effectively suppresses flow losses and flow noise. In
order to provide the necessary rigidity of the
cabinet, a number of strengthening braces
are required.

Building instructions
Für den häufigen Transport und um Resonanzen zu vermeiden ist es vorteilhaft, für das Gehäuse Multiplex mit einer Stärke von 22 mm
zu verwenden. Dadurch steckt das Gehäuse
auch heftige Stöße problemlos weg. Als Oberfläche bietet sich kratzfester Strukturlack oder
eine Beklebung mit Teppichbodenbelag an.
In der Zeichnung wurde die Anschlussdose
ST 77 vorgesehen. Professioneller ist jedoch
eine Anschlussplatte mit Speakon-Buchsen.
Selbstverständlich sind Tragegriffe in den Seitenwänden oder Rollen bei häufigen Transporten unverzichtbar. Die Schallwand ist 50
mm zurückversetzt, um den Lautsprecher zu
schützen. Zusätzlich kann der Tieftöner noch
mit einem Gitter versehen werden (das Gitter
wie auch das erwähnte Zubehör ist im Musiker- oder Versandhandel erhältlich).

kein Gehäuse.

If the speakers are likely to be transported
frequently and in order to reduce resonance, it
is advisable to make the cabinets out of multilayer board with a thickness of 22 mm. This will
make the cabinets very resilient, even to rough
jolts. The ideal surface finish is a scratch-resistant texture paint or you can glue carpeting
to them. The drawing shows terminal block
ST 77. However, a mounting plate with Speakon connectors is far more professional. As
one would expect, carrying handles in the
side walls or castors are an essential aid if
the cabinets are frequently transported. The
acoustic baffle is moved 50 mm back, in order
to protect the driver. Additionally, a grille can
also be fitted to the subwoofer (the grille and
other accessories mentioned are all available
in musician‘s shops).
