2 Introduction to VOJAS
VOJAS is an integrated, multipurpose collaboration device that brings together all elements of collaboration into a single portable device. The device is designed based on the requirements of the education sector. It provides a simple and cost-effective way to take the traditional classroom into the digital domain and reach out to students anywhere in the world.
VOJAS uses the cutting-edge technology, engineering, and innovation to bring together the features of video conferencing, digital projection, video streaming, two-way audio communication, audio video recording, and high-speed computing into a single affordable, portable device that enables real-time collaboration between diverse participants.
2.1 Primary Features
Some of the innovative features of VOJAS are described in the following paragraphs, although there will be many more that you will discover as you use it.
2.1.1 Projector
VOJAS comes with built in HD (1080P) projector capable of projecting widescreen video. It uses the latest DLP ® technology for the world leader Texas Instruments for eye catching colors and high contrast images. The LED light source provides up to 1400 lumens of brightness for crystal clear images. The short throw lens (0.8) optimizes space with closer placement to the projection surface, 50 inch images can be projected from less than a meter away.
2.1.2 Computing Capability
VOJAS is designed on the X86 platform that is the most common platform for Personal Computers (PC). It runs a Windows 10 OS on a Quad Core processer with 8GB of RAM and an 32GB EMMC for storage (with memory expansion using mini SATA SSD(128GB min,400GB max)as also a micro SD card(speed grade UHS 10Mbps ). It is a full-fledged personal computer with a dedicated graphics processor and a sound card.
2.1.3 Front & Rear Cameras
VOJAS is equipped with dual high-resolution cameras at both the front and rear. These panoramic cameras have a wide angle of view and miss nothing in the room. The high resolution sensors capture at a HD (1080P) resolution for more detail and can be configured for lesser resolutions to conserve storage and bandwidth.
2.1.4 Multimedia Capability
2.1.4.1 Stereo Speakers
VOJAS has powerful built in stereo speakers rated at 10W RMS x 2 that suffices for rooms of an area of 180sqmtr without external amplification.
2.1.4.2 MEMS Microphone
It employs a High-sensitivity piezoelectric MEMS microphone array with noise cancellation to pick up speech from any corner of the room (up to 8mtr from device) without any distortion or noise interference.
2.1.5 Connectivity
2.1.5.1 Wired Connectivity
1. HDMI Input
2. HDMI Output

2.3 Before You Begin - Pre-Requisites
2.3.1 Power Supply
2.3.1.1 Voltage
VOJAS is designed to be operate on AC voltages between 110V and 240V. It needs a maximum of 5amps of current to operate.
Caution: Connecting to power supplies outside the operating range can result in damage to the
equipment.
VOJAS: User Guide V1.0
www.virtulive.com
9
2.3.1.2 Earthing
VOJAS requires a grounded or earthed power supply for user safety.
Warning: Operating without earthing can result in serious injury to users and damage to equipment.
2.3.1.3 UPS – Uninterruptable Power Supply
We recommend that the VOJAS be connected to an uninterruptible power supply, sudden outages of power without following the proper Shut Down procedure can damage the equipment and the operating system of the device.
Caution: Sudden power outages can damage the electronics and cause software problems.
2.3.1.4 Protection
VOJAS needs the power supply to be protected against over voltage and short circuits, it does not have internal protection against these conditions. It can result in permanent damage to the device and even injury to users in close proximity.
Warning: The device is not protected against power spikes. Operating the equipment without
adequate protection can result in equipment failure or even injury to users.
Warning: Covers are integral part of safety design of the product. Do not operate without the covers
installed.
2.3.2 Projection Surface
VOJAS can convert any planar surface into a projection screen. Standard whiteboards can serve as a projection surface. The image displayed would be in a wide(16:9) aspect ratio.
2.3.3 Internet Connectivity
Though VOJAS can operate as a standalone device it is most effective when connected to the internet and the SmartSpace. It requires an internet connection with a minimum bandwidth of 1MBPS. VOJAS offers multiple connectivity options to connect to a network including wired LAN (RJ45), Wi-Fi, 4G GSM.
2.3.4 Operating Environment
2.3.4.1 Heat
The VOJAS is designed to be operated across a wide range of ambient temperatures ideally <35 Degree C. It has internal cooling fans to maintain a safe operating temperature. It is still advised to avoid exposures to very high temperatures or direct sunlight as it might lead to preventive shutdowns.
Caution: Exposing the device to direct sunlight or extreme temperatures can cause permanent
damage to the electronics.
2.3.4.2 Humidity
The VOJAS is designed to operate indoors in a controlled environment. Excessive humidity in the environment can cause internal short circuiting due to condensation and damage the electronics.
Caution: Exposing the device to water or excessive humid conditions can cause permanent damage
to the equipment.
2.3.4.3 Dust
Do not expose the VOJAS to very dusty environments. Dust can clog the ventilation passages and can contaminate the projection optics.
VOJAS: User Guide V1.0
www.virtulive.com
10
Caution: Exposing the device to very dusty or smoky environments can reduce the performance
and/or cause permanent damage to the equipment.
2.3.4.4 Ventilation
The projector lamp and the electronics generate a lot of heat during normal operation, the equipment may feel warm to touch when in use. The VOJAS has a ventilation system driven by fans to control the temperature. Air is circulated through the device through the ventilation ducts on either side, these ducts must be kept free from obstruction. Do not place or mount the device so as to obstruct free flow of air to the ventilation ducts.
The Power Adaptor will also generate heat and must be placed in a well ventilated area.
Caution: Obstructing the ventilation ducts may cause the device to overheat and shutdown. It may
also cause damage to the electronics or the lamp.
2.3.4.5 Ambient Light
VOJAS is most effective if used in an area with controlled ambient lighting like most projectors, very bright environments can affect the on-screen visibility.
2.4 Getting to know your device
2.4.1 Identifying your device
The identification plate is located at the bottom of the device. It will contain details that will help identify your device and its make.
