Charging the VRBT400M
THE VRBT400M Bluetooth® Car Kit is powered by a re-c hargeable, replaceable Li-ion battery. A new Li-ion bat tery’s optimum perf ormance is only achieve d after two or three complete charg e and discharge cycles. A r echargeable Li-i on battery can be char ged and d ischar ged hund reds of t imes, eve ntually it will we ar out. W hen the o per­ating time is noticeab ly shorter than normal, it is time to buy a new b attery.
Temporarily route the power cable f rom the vehicle’s power port to the VRBT400M, making sure the cabl e does not interfere with th e safe operation of the vehic le, or cause an unsafe condi tion for the vehicle’s passengers.
1. Insert the small 12VDC plug of the 12VDC adaptor in to the jack on the underside of the VRBT400M marked DC IN.
2. Insert the 12VDC adaptor into the vehi cle’s 12VDC power port.
• Red LED will indicate that th e device is charging.
• Red LED will turn OFF to indicate th at the battery is full.
• LO “appears on the Caller I D Display when battery need to be rec harged.
Turning Your VRBT400M Car Kit On And Off
Move the ON/OFF Switch to the left. The device will light up the Ca ller ID Display, and you will hear a start-up tone. The blue LED indicator wil l light-up. To turn the device OFF, move the On/OFF Switch to the right.
Getting Started

• ON/OFF SWITCH: Turns the device 0N & OFF. To conserve battery power wh en not in use, turn the VRBT400M OFF.
• MULTI-FUNCTION BUTTON: Thi s button performs t he following functions; An swer a Call, End a Call, Voice Dial, Last Num ber Redial, Reject a Call, Call Waiting, Blue­tooth
®
reconnect.
• MODE SWITCH: Switches the VRBT400M to either the In ternal Speaker, or the Car’s Speakers via the FM Tuner.
• Up & DOWN BUTTONS: These b uttons access your cell phones call s received log.
• VOLUME CONTROL: This cont rols the volume of both the Internal Speaker and the Earpiece, when in use.
• EARPIECE: Use this for privac y during a call. Once in use th e Internal Speaker and Car Speaker will be muted. Us e the ON/OFF switch to turn the earpiece ON for pri­vate conversation and OFF for p ower saving.
• MICROPHONE: The VRBT400M is equipped with an internal Full Duplex System Microphone. DSP Technolog y, Noise and Echo suppre ssion system.
• FM FREQUENCY BUTTON: Use this b utton to select between the 4 preset FM Fre ­quencies, 88.1, 88.5, 88.7, 89.4, to transmit to your Car Stereo to listen through you r car’s speakers.
• CALLER ID: Caller ID suppor ts up to 12 digits. Displays both incomin g calls and Device Status Messages.
• STATUS LEDS: These indicate the VRBT400M’s status on calls, Recorde d mes­sages, Batter y and Charging status.
• USB PORT: This port is for fi rmware upgrades onl y! DO NOT CONNECT TO A POW- ER SUPPLY
Pairing Your VRBT400M
Prior to using yo ur VRBT400M for the fi rst time you mus t pair it with a Bluetoo th
®
enabled ce ll phone. The pai ring proced ure is diffe rent betwee n models of cell phones. Plea se refer to the user ma nual of your cell phone f or specifi c details on Bluetooth® connectivity.
1. Turn the VRBT400M ON, and in “Stand-By Mode”. The Blue LED will bli nk every 5
seconds.
2. Activate your ce ll phone’s Bluetooth
®
function. Refer to the cel l phone’s User Guide
for instructions on Bl uetooth®.
3. Search for Bluetooth® devices with your cell pho ne. A list of enabled devices within
range of the cell phone wi ll be shown.
4. Select “HF88” from the l ist on the cell phone. Pair the device.
5. Enter the Passcode “0000 “ to confi rm the pairing process. PAIRED will be dis-
played on the Caller ID.
6. Pairing is now complete, a nd the Blue LED will be lit.
NOTE: If the cell phone’s and/or the VRBT400M’s battery i s weak, you may lose the Bluetooth® connection. Maint ain the charge of the batteries to e nsure good Bluetooth
®
connectivity.
Using The VRBT400M
Once the VRBT400M is paired with a Bluetooth® enabled cell phon e, you are ready to receive or make cell pho ne calls. The blue led will stay ON to indicate it i s paired.
Answering a Ca ll: When th ere is an Incomin g Call you will hea r your cel l phone’s R ing Tone through the VRBT400M Speaker, The Caller ID display shows e ither the number of the calling perso n or CALL. To ANSWER a call press the Multi-Func tion button once, or acce pt the call via your mobile phone in the nor mal way.

Volum e Control
Use the Volume Control knob to adj ust the volume for both the Intern al Speaker and the Earpiece. DO NOT set to th e maximum volume when using the Earpie ce.
Dialing fro m your Cell Phone
While paried with your V RBT4 00M, you can make and receive calls directly fr om your cell phone with the Blue tooth® function.
To Reconnect the Ce ll Phone to Your Device
1. Press once the Multi-Functio n Button.
2. The Caller ID will show [ CONNECTED] a nd the Blue LED light up.
Accessing Your Call s Received Log
Your VRBT400M can access your cell phone’s calls rec eived log.
1. Press either the UP or DOWN But ton to display your cell phone’s calls received log on the VRBT400M’s caller ID.
2. To scroll up the list press the UP But ton.
3. To scroll down the llist press the DOWN bu tton.

Care And Mai ntenance
• Turn your VRBT400M OFF when not in use to extend the bat tery’s life.
• Do not expose your device to liqu id, moisture or humidity as it is not waterpro of.
• Do not use abrasive cle aners or solvents to clean the device.
• Do not expose the device to ext remely high or low temperatures.
• Do not dispose the devic e, or its battery pack in a fi re as it will result in a explosion.
• Do not disassembl e the device as it does not contain serv iceable components.
• If you do not use the VRBT400M for long peri ods, store it in a cool, dry pl ace, free from extreme tempe ratures and dust or dirt.
SAFETY INFORMATION
Check local hands -free laws regarding use of a ce ll phone and VRBT400M while driv-
ing.
• If you use the VRBT400M while driving, rem ain focused on driving a nd drive in a responsible and s afe manner.
• The VRBT400M is not a toy, keep away from children. Small p arts may be a choking hazard.
• Observe all sign s that require an electric al device or RF Radio product to be swi tched OFF in designated are as. These could include hospi tals, blasting areas and potenti ally explosive atmo spheres.
• Your VRBT400M must never be mounted or stored over any air bag deployment area, as serious injur y may result when an airbag deploys.
Operation
To End a Call
Press the Multi-Functi on Button once, or END the cal l via your mobilephone in the normal way.
Rejecting a Ca ll
To reject an incoming call pres s the Multi-Function Button twice. The Blue LED is ON or blinki ng and the Caller ID will show [REJECT].
Voice Dialing
(ONLY WORKS WITH CELL PHONES EQUIPPED WITH VOICE DIALING) To make a call using the Voice Dialing func tion, press the Multi- Function Button. The Caller ID shows [ VOICEDIAL ]. Say the Voic e Tag clearly and the call will b e made.
Call Waiting When a call is active and a s econd call comes through, a call aler t will be heard (usu­ally just few beeps). Press and Hold the Mult i-Function Button. The Caller ID Display s hows the phone number of the incoming call. The fi rst call will be o n hold and you can talk to the second caller. To switch between the 2 calls Press a nd Hold the Multi-Function Button. To terminate one of the two calls, sele ct the caller and Press the Multi- Function Button once only.
Last Number Redial
To Redial the last dialed numbe r press the Multi-Funct ion Button twice so that t wo tones are heard, and the Ca ller ID shows [ REDIAL
]. If the button is press ed too
quickly (i.e. two tones ar e not heard) the re-dial will not work.
Car Speaker Mod e
You can use the VRBT400M’s Internal Speaker, or you can use your ca r’s FM radio receiver speakers to li sten to your Phone Calls.
1. Use the Speaker Mode Switch to choose Car S peaker mode, the VRBT400M will be transmitting the a udio via FM, the default frequency is 88.1.
2.
Set the car’s FM receiver to 88.1 to receive the audi o transmitted from the
VRBT400M.
3. To change the FM channel being use d by the VRBT400M, press the FM Channel button and the VRBT400M will tran smit from the next pre-set. Car Speaker mode use s 4 preset FM frequencies are 88.1, 88.5, 88.7, 89.4. For best perfor mance, select one of the pr eset channels that a str ong local FM radio station is not broadc asting on.
Earpiece Mode
To begin a conversation with the Ear piece 1 Remove the earpiece fr om the unit
2. Turn it ON, the red LED will come on.
3. Place the earpiece’s spea ker in your ear. The Caller ID shows [ EAR ]. To switch conversation between the e arpiece to Car Speaker or Internal Speaker Mo de just replace the Earpiece into its uni t. The Caller ID shows [ CAR ]. Turn the Earpiece OFF to save batter y power.

If you are unable to connect yo ur VRBT400M to the cell phone please che ck and try the follow­ing:
• Ensure the VRBT400M is switched ON.
• Ensure both your VRBT400M and cell pho ne have enough battery power to pair succes sfully.
• Ensure the VRBT400M is paired with your ce ll phone.
(Please refer to your cell ph one’s user guide for specifi c instr uctions for pairing)
• Ensure the device is within a m aximum of 10 meters of the mobile pho ne and there is no ob-
structions, such a s walls or other electronic devices in bet ween. If pairing operation s fail: a. Delete the item from the p aired list on your cell phone. b. Reset both the cell phon e and the VRBT400M device by powering them off and back on. c. Re-pair the two devic es.
• Turn off the cell phone and sep arate the battery from it for app roximately fi ve s econds. Repea t
the pairing process. Note: In some instances , this action clears up any potential bug s built up in the cell phone soft­ware that can hinder prop er pairing. If you have connected to your VRBT400M to the cell pho ne, but do not hear anything

• Ensure the volume control is o n.
• Ensure that the earpie ce is seated properly into the VRBT400M.
• Check the radio signa l strength indicator in you r mobile phone, as you may be outs ide the
service area .
• Your current location may not p rovide good call quality. Move to a location wher e radio signal
strength is greater a nd less interference.
• Magnetized objects s uch as health necklac es placed near the VRBT400M or your m obile
phone may terminate the ca ll. Keep away from such objects. If the Caller ID does not show pro perly:
• VRBT400M supports 12 digits Caller ID. For long er phone numbers, the Caller ID will show the
latter part of the n umber.
• Some telecom ser vice providers do not suppor t Caller ID, especially internatio nal calls. In this
case, the Caller ID will not sh ow on your mobile phone. Note: Please note that it is poss ible that the VRBT400M buttons mig ht not operate according to the instructions in th is user guide if your cell phone has an unusu al wireless interface. In this case, please reset b oth the VRBT400M and cellphon e.
• Your VRBT400M is compliant with, and adopts to the Blue tooth
®

6. In the case of car stereos, this warranty does not extend to the elimination of car static or motor noise; correction of antenna problems; costs incurred for the removal or reinstallation of the product; damage to tapes, speakers, accessories or car electrical systems.
7. VIRTUAL REALITY VIDEO LABS® will not be responsible for any charge incurred for installation. OWNER’S RESPONSIBILITIES: VIRTUAL REALITY VIDEO LABS® will make every effort to provide warranty service within a reasonable period of time.
