MOUNTING THE DARTBOARD CABINET
Space Needed
The dartboard cabinet must be securely mounted and must be at a right angle to the oor. The player throws a dart from a distance of 96 inches (244 cm) for a soft tipped dart and
93.25 inches (237 cm) for a steel tipped dart from the face of the dartboard. Allow room for players to stand. Depending on the players’ accuracy, allow room around the dartboard for missed throws. Refer to the mounting dimensions illustration below. If your dartboard needs electrical power, mount the cabinet near an electrical outlet.
Dartboard cabinets come in many sizes. Typically the cabinet is mounted to a wall and the dartboard is then mounted inside the cabinet.
A typical installation is shown here.

Included with the cabinet is a mounting kit. The kit contains four screws and four expansion anchors for a solid wall. To use the anchors drill a 5/16-inch diameter hole 1-1/2-inch deep.
This same anchor may be used in drywall. Drill a 9/32-inch hole and push the anchor in the hole, until it is ush to the wall.

To Mount a Cabinet for an Electronic Dartboard:
1. Lay the cabinet face up on a table or oor. Place your dartboard inside the cabinet and center it to your satisfaction.
2. Measure to nd the side-to-side center of the dartboard. Also measure from the inside bottom of the cabinet to the center of the bullseye. Record these measurements:
Side-to-side:____________ Vertical measurement to center of dartboard:__________
3. Remove the dartboard and use the measurements to locate what will be the center of the bullseye. Place a mark on the cabinet at this location.
4. Before marking or drilling holes in the wall, locate any wall studs that can be used to mount the cabinet. The cabinet should be screwed into wall studs to provide the most secure mounting. Do not use wall anchors if securing to wall studs. If wall studs will not be used, be certain to use the correct anchors for your wall.
5. Hold the cabinet in a level position on the wall. Pre-drilled holes in the four corners of the cabinet should line up with the wall studs (16 inches apart). Use a tape measure to place the center mark that you made in step 3, 68 inches (173 mm) above the oor. Use the screw holes as a template to mark the wall for the screw holes. Remove the cabinet. If wall studs are not accessible, use the marks to drill four holes for the wall anchors. Use the appropriate anchors and secure them in the wall.
6. Hold the cabinet in place and secure to the wall with screws. The cabinet should be level and the cabinet doors should open and close properly.
7. Mount your dartboard according to the instructions provided with the dartboard.

MOUNTING THE DARTBOARD
Space Needed
The dartboard cabinet must be securely mounted and must be at a right angle to the oor. The player throws a dart from a distance of 96 inches (244 cm) for a soft tipped dart and
93.25 inches (237 cm) for a steel tipped dart from the face of the dartboard. Allow room for players to stand. Depending on the players’ accuracy, allow room around the dartboard for missed throws. Refer to Mounting Dimensions illustration on page 2.
The dartboard can be mounted inside a cabinet or directly to a wall. Screw to a wall stud or use anchors. The center of the bullseye should be 68 inches (173 cm) above the oor. Note that wall thicknesses will vary. Use the correct anchors.
To Mount an Electronic Dartboard:
1. Place a mark on the wall or mounting surface that represents the center of the
bullseye, 68 inches (173 cm) above the oor. If you are mounting a cabinet in which the dartboard will be mounted, the cabinet may have the center marked. Follow the cabinet manufacturers instructions for mounting the cabinet to the wall. Then proceed with the steps to mount the dartboard.
2. Step 2. Review the parts that came with your dartboard. Your parts should include:
the dartboard,
screws to secure the dartboard to the wall or cabinet.
3. Before marking or drilling holes in the wall, locate any wall studs that can be used for
mounting. The dartboard should be screwed into wall studs to provide the most secure mounting. Do not use wall anchors if securing to wall studs. If wall studs will not be used, be certain to use the correct anchors for your wall.
4. Hold the dartboard in a level position on the wall. Pre-drilled holes on one side of the
dartboard should line up with a wall stud. Use a tape measure to placethe bullseye over the center mark that you made in step 1, 68 inches (173 mm) above the oor. Use the screw holes as a template to mark the wall for the screw holes. If wall studs are not accessible, use the marks to drill four holes for the wall anchors. Use the appropriate anchors and secure them in the wall.
5. Hold the dartboard in place and secure to the wall with screws.

To Mount a Bristle Dartboard:
1. Place a mark on the wall or mounting surface that represents the center of the bullseye, 68 inches (173 cm) above the oor.
Your parts should include:
the dartboard,
a mounting bracket and screws to secure the mounting bracket to the wall or cabinet.
spacers and screws or nails to secure the spacers to the dartboard.
a single mounting screw that goes into the center of the dartboard to hang the dartboard on the mounting bracket.
3. If your dartboard is mounting directly to a wall, mount the bracket to a stud for secure installation. If it is not possible to mount to a stud, use the appropriate wall anchors to secure the mounting bracket to the wall. The bottom of the slot on the mounting bracket should line up with your mark for the bullseye (step 1). The slot on the mounting bracket should open upward.
4. The spacers in your packet will keep your dartboard parallel to the wall. Position the spacers evenly (the dartboard may have predrilled holes) around the outside edge of the board. Keep the spacers near the edge and secure with nails or screws provided.
5. The back of the dartboard will have a mark or small hole in the center of the dartboard. Turn the mounting screw into the mark. Tighten but leave a small gap between the screw head and the board. The gap will allow the screw head to slip easily inside the slot of the mounting bracket. You need to adjust the tightness of the screw to create a snug t in Step 6.
6. Hang the dartboard in the mounting bracket by sliding the screw head into the slot on the bracket. The dartboard will be loose on the wall. Remove the dartboard and screw the center screw in 1/2-turn. Hang the dartboard. Check the looseness. Repeat these steps as needed until the dartboard hangs with no looseness. The number 20 should be at the top.

TO MOUNT A BACKBOARD
The backboard will have eight holes pre-drilled into it. The four interior holes are for the dartboard bracket (you will only use two). The four exterior holes (mounting holes) are for securing the backboard to your wall (see illustration). The backboard comes with the dartboard bracket assembled to hang in the diamond position. If you choose to hang your backboard in the square position, using a screwdriver, remove the dartboard bracket and position it to the correct alignment.
Alignment for the
Square Position
Alignment for the
Diamond Position
1. Choose a location with a oor area of 3' to 5' wide and 9' to 10' deep for a clear throwing
lane. Be aware of objects that could be damaged by errant thows.
2. For maximum support on drywall, place your backboard so that the mounting holes are
placed on center of wood studs. Studs can be located using a stud nder.
Note: Plastic anchors are included so that you can mount your backboard in the event that
wood studs cannot be used.
3. Locate the center of your backboard, it will be the bottom of the U-shaped groove on
the dartboard bracket. Place the center of your backboard 68" above your oor. Place pressure on the backboard against the wall. Use a level and check the accuracy of your edges and mounting holes. Once you are satised with the position of your backboard, insert a pencil or pen through the mounting holes and mark the mounting surface.
4. Remove your backboard and place it to the side. If you are using the plastic anchors,
pre-drill a 1/4" hole 2" in depth, into the marks you made in the last step. Place the anchors into the holes and gently tap them in level with the surface of the wall using a hammer or rubber mallet. If you are fastening the backboard directly into wood studs, pre-drill you hole with a 1/8" drill bit.
5. Hold the backboard against the wall, aligning the mounting holes on the backboard with
the holes pre-drilled into the wall. Drive the screws through the mounting holes. Before tightening the screws, use a level to make any minor adjustments needed to align your backboard.
