VZ-CMK02
Installing the VZ-CMK02 Mount
Introduction
Your VZ-CMK02 mount may be secured to either a single ceiling stud or a solid surface ceiling, such as concrete.
The VZ-CMK02 allows tilt and pivot adjustments ±15° from center, 360° side-to-side swivel, and cable access. The
VZ-CMK-P3 allows height adjustment from 24 to 46 inches. Plus it also features two cable access openings.
Please read these installation instructions once thoroughly before attempting to install your ViewZ product.
Please take a minute to familiarize yourself with the contents of the package and make sure you have all the parts and
tools you need to safely complete the installation.
In addition, some steps of this installation may require two people to prevent personal injury and/or damage to your
projector. Please observe all warnings in the following installation procedure and utilize proper safety equipment at all
times.
Wood Stud Installation
Step 1
Use a stud nder to locate a ceiling stud closest to
Ä
your desired installation location.
Identify the center of the ceiling stud.
®
Use a pencil to mark the location of the ceiling stud
¯
center.
The target arrow indicates the direction of the
non-viewing side of the at panel.
Step 2
Place the VZ-CMK-P3 ceiling plate into position
Ä
against the ceiling with the mounting holes aligned
with the center of the ceiling stud.
Use a pencil and mark two (2) mounting hole
®
locations through each of the mounting points A in the
VZ-CMK-P3 ceiling plate.

VZ-CMK02
Step 3
Set aside the VZ-CMK02 Mount.
Ä
Drill a pilot hole in the center of each mark using a
®
power drill and 1/8˝ drill bit.
Pilot Holes
When a screw is driven into a material, such
as wood, it can act as a wedge, generating
outward pressure which can cause many
materials to split. Drilling a small pilot hole
in the material into which the screw will be
driven causes less ‘wedging’ to take place,
thereby reducing the likelihood of the material
being split. It also reduces the possibility of
the screw head from being sheared off by
torque
Step 4
Realign the VZ-CMK02 with the pilot holes.
Ä
Insert one (1) #14 x 2˝ screw through each of the mounting holes A in the bottom of the VZ-CMK-P3 ceiling plate
®
and into the pilot holes.
Manually tighten each screw until the VZ-CMK-P3 ceiling plate is secure against the ceiling.
¯
Do not overtighten the #14 x 2˝ screws.
Proceed to the “Attaching the Projector Plate” section.

Solid Ceiling Installation
Your VZ-CMK02 at panel mount can be mounted to a solid surface ceiling with a minimum 6" thickness. Concrete
wedge anchors must be used for concrete installation. It is recommended that ¼” wedge anchors be used. A concrete
bit must be used to drill the pilot hole. Both wedge anchors and concrete drill bits are not supplied, but can be
purchased at your local hardware store.
Example Wedge Anchors and Concrete Bit
Step 1
Place the VZ-CMK-P3 ceiling plate into position
Ä
against the ceiling.
Use a pencil and mark four (4) mounting hole
®
locations through each of the mounting points B in the
VZ-CMK-P3 ceiling plate.
The target arrow indicates the direction of the
non-viewing side of the at panel.
Step 2
Drill a hole at each mark using the appropriate
Ä
diameter concrete bit for your wedge anchor.
Remove the nut and washer from the wedge anchors.
®
Insert a wedge anchor into each hole.
¯
(Commercially Available)
If necessary, a hammer can be used to lightly tap
each wedge anchor into place.
Page 8 Visit the ViewZ website at http://www.viewzusa.comInstallation Instructions
Page 9
VZ-CMK02
Step 3
Move the VZ-CMK-P3 ceiling plate back into position.
Ä
Thread a wedge anchor nut (and washer, if provided
®
with the wedge anchor) onto each threaded wedge
anchor shaft.
Do not tighten any of the wedge anchor nuts (and any
washers) until all nuts and washers are threaded onto the
shafts.
Do not overtighten the wedge anchor nuts.
Proceed to the “Attaching the VZ-CMK01A” section.
Attaching the VZ-CMK01A
Screw the VZ-CMK01A coupling adapter to the VZ-
Ä
CMK-P3 adapter or 1½" (NPT) Pipe.
Secure the coupling with the M6 set screw (supplied).
®
The VZ-CMK01A must be threaded on four complete
turns before tightening down the set screw.
If you are having difculty achieving four complete
turns, insert a screwdriver through the access hole
and apply pressure while turning the VZ-CMK01A
(see below).

Attaching the VZ-CMK01A
Use the M3 Allen wrench to tighten the M6 x 6mm set
¯
screw located on the side of the VZ-CMK02 mount.
Proceed to the “Mounting Hardware” section.
Mounting Hardware
Selecting the Mounting Hardware
Insert a small straw or toothpick into the threaded
Ä
inserts found on the back of the at panel.
Use a pencil to mark the depth of the threaded insert
®
on the small straw or toothpick.
Mark the straw or toothpick 1/8” above the depth of
¯
the threaded insert, as shown in Figure 1.
Insert the small straw or toothpick into the remaining
°
threaded inserts to compare and verify their depth
using the straw or toothpick’s 1/8” allowance mark.
Locate the correct diameter screw for the threaded
±
insert.
VZ-CMK02
M3 Allen Wrench
M6 x 6mm Set Screw
If the screw you selected is longer than the 1/8”
allowance mark on the small straw or toothpick,
as shown in Figure 2 and Figure 3, do not use this
screw. The screw length must not bypass the mark.
Test each size of the screws provided.
²
The correct screws should thread easily into the
mounting point and not pull out when tension is
applied.
Does your at panel have:
● Recessed mounting points?
● Uneven mounting points?
● A curved back?
● Any obstruction near the mounting point?
If Yes, you must install Universal Spacers. Proceed
to the “Universal Spacer Installation” section.
If No, skip to the “VZ-AP200 Adapter Plate
Installation” section.
