1. Wichtige Hinweise
Bitte lesen Sie vor der ersten Anwendung des Produktes bzw. dessen
Einbau diese Bedienungsanleitung aufmerksam durch. Bewahren Sie
diese auf, sie ist Teil des Produktes.
1.1 Sicherheitshinweise
Vorsicht:
Verletzungsgefahr!
Aufgrund der detaillierten Abbildung des Originals bzw. der
vorgesehenen Verwendung kann das Produkt Spitzen, Kanten
und abbruchgefährdete Teile aufweisen. Für die Montage sind
Werkzeuge nötig.
Stromschlaggefahr!
Die Anschlussdrähte niemals in eine Steckdose einführen! Verwendetes Versorgungsgerät (Transformator, Netzteil) regelmäßig
auf Schäden überprüfen. Bei Schäden am Versorgungsgerät
dieses keinesfalls benutzen!
Alle Anschluss- und Montagearbeiten nur bei abgeschalteter
Betriebsspannung durchführen!
Ausschließlich nach VDE/EN gefertigte Modellbahntransformatoren verwenden!
Stromquellen unbedingt so absichern, dass es bei einem Kurzschluss nicht zum Kabelbrand kommen kann.
1.2 Das Produkt richtig verwenden
Dieses Produkt ist bestimmt:
- Zum Einbau in Modelleisenbahnlokomotiven.
- Zum Anschluss an einen Modellbahntransformator (z. B. Art.
5200) bzw. an eine Modellbahnsteuerung mit zugelassener
Betriebsspannung.
- Zum Betrieb in trockenen Räumen.
Jeder darüber hinausgehende Gebrauch gilt als nicht bestimmungs-
gemäß. Für daraus resultierende Schäden haftet der Hersteller nicht.
1.3 Packungsinhalt überprüfen
Kontrollieren Sie den Lieferumfang auf Vollständigkeit:

Please read this manual completely and attentively before using the
product for the first time. Keep this manual. It is part of the product.
1.1 Safety instructions
Caution:
Risk of injury!
Due to the detailed reproduction of the original and the intended
use, this product can have peaks, edges and breakable parts.
Tools are required for installation.
Electrical hazard!
Never put the connecting wires into a power socket! Regularly
examine the transformer for damage. In case of any damage, do
not use the transformer.
Make sure that the power supply is switched off when you mount
the device and connect the cables!
Only use VDE/EN tested special model train transformers for
the power supply!
The power sources must be protected to avoid the risk of burning
cables.
1.2 Using the product for its correct purpose
This product is intended:
- For installation in model train locos.
- For connection to an authorized model train transformer (e. g.
item 5200) or a digital command station.
- For operation in dry rooms only.
Using the product for any other purpose is not approved and is considered inappropriate. The manufacturer is not responsible for any
damage resulting from the improper use of this product.
1.3 Checking the package contents

2. Einleitung
Der Pantographen-Blitzer simuliert das beim Vorbild eher nicht erwünschte Funkenschlagen am Pantographen einer fahrenden E-Lok.
Der Einbau-Satz besteht aus einem Elektronikmodul und einer
blauen Micro-LED. Geeignet für Gleichstrom-, Wechselstrom- und
Digitalbetrieb.
3. Anschluss
Abb. 1 zeigt den Anschluss des Pantographen-Blitzers an die Stromversorgung in der Lokomotive.
Verbinden Sie das Elektronikmodul des Blitzers direkt mit dem Motor.
So blitzt es nur, wenn der Motor mit Strom versorgt wird.
3.1 Hinweis: Elektronisch kommutierte Motore (z. B.
Märklin Sinus)
Analogbetrieb: Schließen Sie das Elektronikmodul direkt an die
Radschleifer der Lok an. Die Polarität spielt dabei keine Rolle.
Digitalbetrieb: Schließen Sie das Elektronikmodul an einen freien
Funktionsausgang des Decoders an. Sie können den Blitzeffekt
dann beliebig ein- und ausschalten. Beachten Sie auch die Anleitung
des Decoders!

2. Introduction
This effect simulates the sparking at the pantograph of a real locomotive which is caused by contact problems between the pantograph and the catenary.
The set includes a small electronic module and a blue micro-LED.
Suitable for AC, DC and digital systems.
3. Connection
Fig. 1 shows the connection of the pantograph flashlight to the
power supply of the locomotion.
The electronic module has to be connected directly to the motor.
Thus, the flashlight works only when the loco is running.
3.1 Notice: Motors with electronic commutator (e. g.
Maerklin Sinus)
Analogous operation: Connect the electronic module directly to
the wheel pick-ups of the locomotion. The polarity does not matter.
Digital operation: Connect the electronic module to a free function
output of the decoder. You can switch on and off the sparking effect
as you like. Refer to the manual of the decoder!

4. Montage — Schritt für Schritt
Die folgenden Fotos zeigen Schritt für Schritt den Einbau des Pantographen-Blitzers in eine Elektro-Lokomotive.
Beachten Sie beim Einbau auch die Anleitung der Lokomotive und
ggf. des Digitaldecoders (bei Anschluss an einen Funktionsausgang)!

4. Mounting — step by step
The following pictures show step by step how to mount the pantograph flashlight into an electric locomotion.
Refer to the manual of the locomotion! If you use a digital decoder,
refer to the manual of the decoder!
Lokgehäuse abnehmen und Loch bohren (1,5 mm).
Remove the case of the loco and drill a hole (1,5 mm).
Haltedraht am oberen Pantographen-Holm verdrillen.
Twist the upper holding wire around the pantograph.
Leuchteinheit und Kabel von innen durch das Loch führen.
Push the lighting unit + the cable from inside through the hole.
Überschüssigen Haltedraht mit Seitenschneider entfernen.
Cut off the unused rest of the holding wire.

Leuchteinheit in gewünschte Position biegen.
Bend the lighting unit near the slider.
Zuleitungen (grau + orange) entsprechend Abb. 1 anlöten.
Solder the grey and orange cable as shown in fig. 1.
Haltedraht am unteren Pantographen-Holm verdrillen.
Twist the lower holding wire around the pantograph.

Betriebsspannung: 6 – 28 V AC~ / DC=
Stromaufnahme: < 5 mA
