1.1 Introduction
The purpose of this document is to provide you with step-by-step information on how to use this device. Covered in this document is information initial tasks such as, unpacking the box, assem­bling it for the first time, making or receiving calls to advanced features such as creating e­mail accounts, using camera controls, or to schedule recording of FM radio channels.
It is highly recommended that you go through this document to understand the features, using the phone just the way it is intended to.
1.2 For your safety
Road safety
The use of a mobile phone while driving is ille­gal and should be avoided at all costs. If you need to make or receive an urgent call, move your vehicle to the side of the road and allow it to come to a complete stop before using your phone.
Switch off in potentially hazardous environments
Wireless phones can interfere with the smooth functioning of the aircrafts, petrol pumps, med­ical equipment in hospitals, and near blasting sites. It is extremely important that you do not use your mobile phones whilst in any of the above environments.

Additionally, do remember to deactivate any alarms that you may have set before you turn off the V1750 before an aircraft takeoff.
Emergency Calls
In case of an accident or an emergency, dial 100 (Police), 101 (Fire) or 102 (Ambulance) from your phone. Being emergency numbers, these are toll free and can be reached even from areas where the network signal strength is very poor.
Battery Use
• First time charging must be done using the regular charger and not using the USB cable.
• During the first 3-4 charge sessions, charge the battery until it has been fully charged according to the battery level indicator. This ensures higher battery backup and extends the battery life.
• Avoid partial charging. Wait for the battery to discharge completely before charging it again.
• Charging through the USB Cable should be reserved during an emergency.
• Use the device in vibrating mode only on rare occasions.

When the battery is low a warning tone sounds, the battery low message displays and the empty battery icon blinks. If the battery

level becomes too low, the phone automatically turns off. Recharge your battery.

• Press and hold Power On/Off button to turn the phone on and off
• Enter your SIM card PIN, if requested.
Access Codes
• There are access codes for your SIM card These codes help you to protect the phone against unauthorized use.
• When requested for any of the code expla­ined below, key-in the appropriate code (dis­played as asterisks) and press the OK key.
Note: When the battery is discharged complete-
ly, and not used for a while, the phone will not display the charging icon for a moment while charging. The phone will display the charging icon after that transition period.

2.4 SIM card information
When you subscribe to a mobile service provid­ed with a Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) card that keeps track of your phone number, the services that came bundled with your sub­scription, and a phonebook that stores numbers of your family and friends.
2.5 Text Entry
Text can be entered in several ways in the V1750. Open an application that allows text input, such as New Message or New Note, a virtual keyboard displays on the screen. You may then touch type, use the virtual keyboard, or use the stylus. The V1750 supports hand­writing recognition that translates stylus ges­tures written on the screen into letters.

Your Videocon V1750 is a feature packed device,. To make navigation simpler, you can use the on­screen Widgets, Shortcuts, or the exhaustive phone menu.
3.1 Icons
Indicator icons provide information such as bat­tery level, network signal strength, current date & time and so forth.

3.2 Widgets
In the V1750, you can display widgets to pro­vide quick information on the idle screen. However these widgets are not shortcuts. For instance, the music player widget let’s you play audio tracks from the idle screen itself.
To add a widget to the idle screen, drag-drop it from the widgets panel to the idle screen. The available widgets include, analog clock, digital clock, day & date, calendar, world clock, ani­mated snowfall icon, photo frame, memo, alarm, quick message viewer, audio player, and FM player
3.3 Shortcuts
One touch Shortcuts on the idle screen, pro­vide easy access to applications currently installed on the phone. These shortcuts launch their respective applications with a single touch.
In the V1750, you can create shortcuts for nine applications, such as; Main menu, Calling screen, Call history, Phone Book, Messages, Browser, File manager, Phone setup, User pro­file, Calendar, Video player, Audio player, Calculator, Alarm, Tasks, Yahoo messenger, Skype, and MSN Messenger

4. Using Your Phone
4.1 Call history
Use this menu to view the dialed, received or missed calls. On the Idle screen, press [Menu] select Call history. The Call History sub-menu comprises the following:
All Calls: List of all dialled, received and missed calls
Dialed Calls: List of the last 50 numbers you have dialled
Received Calls: List of last 50 incoming calls
Missed Calls: List of the last 50 calls you were unable to answer
4.2 Phonebook
The Phonebook is a location in your phone’s inter­nal memory on which you can store numbers of your contacts. The SIM card also allows you to

store phone numbers, though the permissible limit may vary from provider to provider. Even though, the SIM card and the phone’s internal memory are physically separate, they are used as a sin­gle entity known as the Phonebook. Choose
Menu Phonebook Options Phonebook Settings. The available settings are:
Preferred Storage: The memory type you want to use for storing contacts. The options available are SIM1, SIM2,
Phone, and Select All.
Smart Search: To search for a contact, type few letters of the contacts name to view the list of matching names in SIM1, SIM2, and Phone, select ALL. . In this case, the contacts are saved in the phone’s memory.

Smart Search: Enter few characters of a contact’s name to display list of matching contacts. Use the navigation keys to select the contact you wish to call.
Speed Dial: Speed dialing allows you to make a call by pressing and holding a num­ber key when on the idle screen. You may assign the numbers between 2-9 contacts in your phonebook
My vCard: Store your personal contact information as a vCard to allow quick shar­ing of your details with contacts. Once you have entered your contact information, use the Send my vCard option to send your vCard via SMS, MMS, or through file transfer over Bluetooth.
vCard version: Choose vCard version
Special numbers: Edit SIM owner number, SIM service dialing number and SIM SOS
number in this menu.
Memory Status: Check the usage (in per­cent) of the phone’s internal memory is unutilized, and the number of contacts that can be stored in the SIM cards and phone.
Copy contacts: Copy contacts from both SIM cards to the phone or vice versa.
Move contacts: Move contacts from SIM cards to phone or vice versa.
Delete all contacts: Delete entries from the SIM cards and phone memory. To delete entries select “From SIM 1”, “From SIM 2” (if both are inserted in the phone) or “From Phone.”
Phonebook backup: Allows you to back up contacts on SIM cards pr [hone o the mem­ory card. You can also restore previously backed up data.

4.3 Services
Services include the features that are support­ed by your service provider. If you cannot con­nect any of those services, please contact your service provider for assistance.
WAP: the Internet browser of your V1750, you can use it to browse the Internet wirelessly.
Data account: Specify the connection set­tings for the GPRS account that you hold with your service provider.
Rights Manager: use to manage the rights for DRM
4.4 File Manager
Navigate the various files or folders available on the phone memory or the Micro SD (T-Flash) Card.
4.5 Messages
In Messaging, you can send and receive text mes­sages, multimedia messages, audio messages, and e-mail messages. To launch messaging, on the idle screen, select Menu Messages to view the available functions. Message functions are available depending on network services that your service provider supports.

SMS
Write Message: Create and send a message.
Inbox: Messages and data received using SMS or MMS are stored in the Inbox folder.
Drafts: Messages that you have been writing are stored in the Drafts folder.
Outbox: Messages that are waiting to be sent are stored in the Outbox.
Sent Messages: Messages that have been sent are moved to the Sent Messages folder.
Archive: You can move your message to archive folder
• Delete messages
• Use to delete all messages in Inbox, Outbox, Sent Messages, Drafts, and Archive.
E-Mail
To send and receive e-mail, you must have access to a remote mailbox service. This service may be offered by a Web-based service provider (such as GMAIL, Yahoo Mail), a network service provider (such an ones provided by your Internet service provider), or by your company. The V1750 is compliant with Internet standards such as SMTP, IMAP4 (revision 1), and POP3.

Send and Receive
Use to check for new mail and send any e-mails in the Outbox.
Write Email
Use the Write E-Mail command to create a new e-mail.
Inbox
This folder stores the list of emails you have received.
Outbox
This folder displays the list of unsent mails.
Sent
This folder displays the list of sent mails.
Drafts
This folder displays the list of e-mail Draft you saved.
Clear mailbox
To free up memory on the V1750 mobile phone, regularly clear the messages in the Inbox and Sent folders
Delete marked Email
This folder helps you to delete marked mails in selected folder.
Email Accounts
Configure e-mail accounts and settings.
Templates
Use this menu to make and use templates of frequently used email.

Broadcast Message
This network service allows you to receive the broadcast messages on various topics such as weather, traffic, local district code, local hospi­tals, taxis or pharmacy in your area.

Templates
Save time by using the default templates for commonly sent e-mail.
Message Settings
Within the Message Settings sub-menu, you can define default profile setting, SMS and multimedia message.
4.6 Business
Use this menu to keep track of your schedule. You can also use convenient features, such as Calendar, tasks, Alarm, World Clock.
To access this menu, press [Menu] in Idle mode and select Business.
Calendar
You can keep track of your monthly schedule.
Tasks
You can view all saved tasks.
Alarm
Set the alarm to ring at a specific time.
World clock
Set your local time zone and find out the current time in another part of the world.

4.7 Multimedia
Camera
Your Videocon V1750 is equipped with a 3.2 Megapixel camera on the back of the device that can be used to take still photographs or record videos.
Select Menu Multimedia Camera to launch the camera application. Alternately, press the camera button located on the side of your device.
Taking and Saving a Photo
Once the camera application is enabled, press and hold the camera button on the side of the phone. All pictures that you chick are automat­ically saved to a folder that you specify using the Options menu on the camera screen.
Use the Auto Focus feature in the V1750 to sharpen the image quality. To enable Auto
Focus, half-press the camera button. A white rectangle displays on the screen indicating that the camera is trying to autofocus, once done, the rectangle changes to green. Fully press and release the camera button to click the photo. Do not move your hand until you hear the shutter sound, or the message Capturing is displayed on the screen. A steady hand can further enhance the image quality.
Setting Picture options
• Switch to video recorder: Launch the video recorder
• Photos: View previously clicked photos.
Camera Settings: Control functions such as Camera Flash, Shutter Sound, EV, Contrast, Anti-flicker, Delay timer, and Cont. shot.

Image settings: Set image size and quality

Storage: Specify the memory type where the pictures you click shall be saved.
Restore Default: Reset camera defaults.
Image viewer
You can see your photos in your phone by choos­ing [Image viewer] menu in [Multimedia] menu. It will display the photos with image name, image size and date.
Video Recorder Select Menu Multimedia Camera switch to Video recording to enable the video
mode for the camera. Alternately, press and hold camera button located on the side of your device to directly enable the video recording mode
Recording and Saving a Video
• Video recorder can be launched by long pressing the camera key.
• Choose [Video Recorder] menu.
• Set your video recorder by using [Option] or alphanumeric keys.
• After setting the view, start to record a video by pressing the [OK] key or camera key

• On pressing the [Stop] soft key (right), the phone will prompt whether or not you want to save the video.
• If you want to view the recorded file, you can access it via the Video Player menu.
Video player
Use Video Player to watch videos. The support­ed formats are 3GP and M-JPEG
Photo editor
You can edit the photo and slide show files saved in your phone or Memory card. The status of your photo editor setting will be displayed on the top of the preview mode
Audio player
Your phone provides you a friendly audio player device for entertainment purpose. You may enter the music player via main Menu You may also download the music content via USB or other
connection. Music tracks must be saved in Audio folder in File Manager in order to be automatical­ly detected and added into the default play list. You may listen to the music through the headset or loudspeaker. The user-friendly interface is spe­cially designed to allow easy access to common functions such as play, pause, and stop.
Playing Audio Tracks
In the Music Player menu, you may select List to access the following setting. If you are a first­time user, select Play List to add music tracks from your memory card. Your music player will automatically detect and add all the music tracks into the default play list. When you use the music player next time, select any music track to access the following options:
Now Playing: Allows you to play the selected song immediately.

My Playlists: Allows you to create play lists according to your personal preference, in addition to the default play list. Select one song in any play list, and access the following options:
Artists: Allows you to sort your music by the name of the Artist.
Albums: Allows you to sort your music by the title of the Album.
Genres: Allows you to sort your music by Genre.
Tracks: Allows you to sort your music by the track type.
Settings: Allows you to set player set­tings, display settings sound effects and Bluetooth settings.

AMR, AMR-WB, EES, AEC, MP3 and MIDI
Sound recorder
With this menu, you can record sound in AMR, WAV and AWB format and use it as voice memo, ring tone, MMS attachment.
To quickly record sounds, press and hold the down volume key.
FM radio
The FM Radio application turns the mobile phone into a portable FM Radio device. It primarily pro­vides users the interface to a single-chip elec­tronically turned FM stereo radio for listening to live-broadcast stations. You must connect the ear­phone to your phone as it works as an antenna.

To listen to the radio
Connect the earphone to your phone. When entering the main screen, a default frequency is selected and it’s power off for the first time of entrance.
Schedule FM record
This menu allows you to set the Schedule FM Radio to record at a specific time. You can save up to 4 channels.
Melody composer
Compose your own melodies and use them as ringtones, or send to friends as MMS attachments.
Slide Show
View all images in a folder as a slideshow.
4.8 Fun & Games
MSN messenger: To add a new contact, the contact must be online at the time of addition.
Skype messenger
Yahoo messenger
Games: This phone provides you embedded games.
Motion games: This phone provides you embedded motion games.
Java: Your mobile phone features a Java run-time environment, which allows you to run Java applications, such as games downloaded on the Network. You can setup audio, network profile, and free data space.

Java settings: You can set Java audio, Java backlight, Java vibration, Select SIM, Java SIM1 Profile, Java SIM2 Profile, Heap size in this menu
8.8 Java default security: You can set third party settings, entrusted domain, restore default and domain options in this menu.
4.9 User Profiles
This menu allows you to set the ring tone, alert type, ring volume, answer mode and backlight, etc when you receive an incoming call or a new message so that you can adapt the use of your phone to different types of call environments. The available profiles are, General, Meeting, Outdoor, Indoor, Silent, Headset, and Bluetooth
4.10 Tools
You can use some convenient features in this menu, such as Calculator, Unit converter, Currency converter, Stopwatch, EBook reader, Answer machine.
Calculator: You can use calculator by pressing the icons on the screen
Unit converter: Convert from one type of unit to another for ex. Weight, Length, Volume, Temperature, Velocity, Surface
Currency converter: You can use your phone for converting currency. You have to select the amount and currency rate to which the amount has to be converted.
Stopwatch: Use the Stopwatch to meas­ure the amount of time elapsed from a par­ticular time when activated to when the piece is deactivated.

EBook reader: With the function, you may read any file in TXT format saved in the memory card. You just have to copy the file in the folder of [eBook] in the memory card in the directory [File management], and start up the function of electronic book. If the file is not in the folder, you just have to “open the electronic book” in the options of the file, and the file will be moved to the folder automatically.
Answer machine: You can leave a message and set it to answer the call automatically.
4.11 Settings
The Settings menu provides you with various setting options to customize the phone to your preferences and needs. You can also reset the settings to their default values.
To access this menu, press [Menu] in Idle mode and select Settings.

Call settings Smart Divert: Smart Divert is the function that
phone enable you to divert Incoming call from
SIM1 to SIM2 and vice versa when either one of the SIM is in active call. When
Smart Divert is on, Call waiting and Call divert of both SIM cards will be activated automatically.
On: Set the Smart Divert function on.
Off: Set the Smart Divert function off
Status: Show status of Call waiting and Call
divert function setting of two SIM cards.
SIM1 call settings
Input SIM1 Divert Number: Input the SIM1 number
Input SIM2 Divert Number: Input the SIM2 number
Remind When Power On: When user power on the mobile, this status will remind which function is on or off.

Network setup
Network Setup helps you in Network Selection, and Preferences
Network Selection: The Network Selection fea­ture enables you to select automatically or man­ually the network used when roaming outside of your home network.
Security setup
Use this menu to protect the phone against unauthorized use by managing the several access codes of your phone and SIM card.
You can optimize security mode by choosing sub menus in “Security Setup” in “Settings” menu. These security settings will help you to keep privacy and to prevent other people from using the phone without your permission.
SIM1 security setup
Your phone provides the following selections for your option:
SIM1 Lock: This function allows you to lock the phone with a specific SIM card. The feature is designed to prevent the use

of your SIM cards by means of another person’s phone if your SIM cards lost. You can switch on or off to activate the SIM1 Lock function.
Fixed Dial: This function dials only the numbers in the fixed dialing number (FDN). To save and edit numbers on the list, you need the PIN2 code.
Barred Dial: Allows you to switch on or off restricted call function. However, you need to check if your SIM supports this function.
Change Password: Allows you to change PIN code and phone lock password.
SIM2 Setting
This function allows you to activate password to protect your phone against unauthorized use. Option list is same as SIM1 Settings
Mobile Tracker
This function enables you to trace the phone in case it gets lost. The default password is “0000”. If someone inserts another SIM card into your lost mobile, you will receive an SMS from the new SIM card indicating the new user.
View IMSI: View the IMSI of the SIM card phone has now
Owner Name: please fill your own name
Tracking nunber1: Mobile tracker SMS received number while the mobile tracker is active, and the SIM card is changed

Change password: change the password of mobile tracker
Phone Lock
You can switch on or off to activate the phone lock function to protect your phone. If you switch Phone Lock on, you need to enter the password to set the request on. The default password is “0000”.
Auto Keypad Lock
This allows you to lock the phone’s keypad to prevent accidental key pressed. In Auto Keypad Lock submenu, select the time that after the last key press will be disabled, and press OK.
Change Password
Allow you to change the phone lock password.
Connectivity
