Basic Operation
Connecting the Hose
Insert the hose end into the tub and twist to secure.
Connecting the Battery
Insert the connector from the powerhead into the connector on the battery case and click together.
Switching the Machine On and O
To turn the machine on, make sure the battery is connected and press the switch to the 1 position. To stop the machine press the switch to the O position.
Charging the Battery
Make sure that the machine is switched o and the power head is disconnected from the battery, by pulling out the connector.
Connect the charger to the battery by pushing the charger plug into the socket on the machine. Make sure that it clicks into place securely.
When the charger is connected to the machine you can plug the charger into the mains socket and turn the power on.
The charger will display two red lights which show that the battery is charging. During the nal phase of charging one of the lights with ash green. Charging is complete when the light is solid green.
It is important to remember to turn the power o at the mains socket and remove the plug from the mains socket before removing the charger plug from the machine.

Changing the Bag
To change the bag, rstly unplug the powerhead from the battery.
Unclip the powerhead from the tub and lift o.
Lift out the lter. You will now be able to see the bag. Remove the bag and close the cardboard ap to prevent dust and dirt escaping. Dispose of the bag in your designated disposal area.
Take a fresh bag a push it over the inlet, make sure that the bag is tted securely. Replace the lter and the powerhead. You can then connect the powerhead to the battery and continue cleaning.
Safety Instructions
These instructions are very important and should be read and understood by every user of this machine. A copy of this instruction manual should be held at the location of the machine for future reference.
Important - Use of this Machine
The V-9B is a battery operated tub vacuum that is designed for dry use only within commercial environments.
It is not designed to and should not be used to pick up hazardous materials including but not limited to toxic materials, explosive dust or other combustable material and it is not suitable for use in an explosive atmosphere. This machine is not for use in ATEX regulated environments.
The machine should not be used to pick up water or solutions or be used to collect any warm or ignited materials such as glowing ashes or lit cigarette ends.
This machine should only be used by suitably trained operators, who are familiar with these instructions.
Regular Maintenance
It is important before every use that the machine is checked for damage. If any damage is found to the machine or the battery compartment it should be reported to your supervisor or designated person and the machine taken out of use until the damage has been repaired by Dowding & Plummer Ltd. Following use, check the bag. If it is full replace with a new one. Only Victor genuine parts and dust bags should be tted to this machine and its charger. The use of non-genuine spares or bags will void the warranty. The use of non-genuine spares will aect the machine’s performance and could cause damage to the machine.
Filters and bags should be checked and changed regularly. The machine should always be used with a bag, this helps prolong the life of the lter.
Battery Safety
Under no circumstances should the battery compartment be opened. If you suspect that there may be a fault with the batteries please contact Dowding & Plummer Ltd.
Batteries are considered wearing parts and are regarded as consumables for warranty purposes.
Do not short circuit the batteries. Service life and operational characteristics will be aected by temperature. Only charge the battery with the V-9B battery charger (product code - C4956) Do not charge any other type of batteries with the V-9B charging unit. Do not remove the battery from its casing. Check the battery compartment for damage before use. Do not dismantle the battery comaprtment or battery pack. Do not apply heat to the battery compartment or pack or store ina condition outside that described in these instructions. Do not place the battery compartment or charger in liquid. Do not charge the battery when the ambient temperature is below 0oC. If the battery pack or compartment is leaking please contact Dowding & Plummer Ltd. for details on safe disposal and replacement. Always observe the battery safety symbols below:-
Battery Pack Disposal
At the end of life the battery pack should be returned to Dowding & Plummer Ltd. who will dispose of the pack safely and in accordance with all WEEE and environmental regulations. Do not throw the battery or machine in the bin at the end of their life. The battery contains substances that may be harmful to the environment. Never replace the battery within the compartment and re-use. The only proper way of disposal and replacement is by returning the machine to Dowding & Plummer Ltd. who will replace the battery pack with a new one supplied by Dowding & Plummer Ltd. Never bury the end of life battery pack or incinerate as the batteries contain harmful substances.
WEEE and Battery Directives
When the wheelie bin symbol is marked on a product, it means that it should not be disposed of as unsorted municipal waste. Only discard these items in separate collections schemes which cater for the recovery and recycling of the materials contained within. Your co-operation is vital to ensure the success of these schemes and for the protection of the environment.

Important - Charging Safety
Only charge using the Victor charger supplied with the machine, product code C4956. Only place the charger on hard, at and dry surfaces. Do not place the charger on carpet or other soft furnishings. Do not place anything on top of the charger. Do not cover the charger or machine whilst charging or when the mains lead from the charger is connected to the power socket. Only charge the battery in a safe designated area. Before each use check the charger mains cable and plug for damage, if damaged do not use. Do not charge in temperatures between 0oC and 50oC. Do not operate the charger in an explosive atmosphere. Do not handle the charger with wet hands. The charger should not be opened and only serviced by Dowding & Plummer Ltd. The charger should only be used by a trained operator who has read and is familiar with these instructions. Do not unplug the charger by by grasping the cable or connecting plug lead.

Removing and Installing the Battery Pack
The battery pack should not be removed unless faulty. It is a non-serviceable part and should only ever be replaced. The battery pack should only ever be removed by a trained operator approved by Dowding & Plummer Ltd.
Firstly, remove the powerhead and lter from the machine. To access the battery pack, remove the 4 screws from the lid of the battery compartment.
Lift o the lid to expose the battery.
Turn the lid over and remove the two screws that attach the red connector to the battery compartment lid.
Next remove the two screws that attach the charging socket to the battery compartment.

Wearing the appropriate PPE, carefully remove the battery. Take care to slide the charging connector out of the side of the compartment.
