Connecting the power supply
There are 2 ways to connect power to your All-In-One Monitor Riser:
1: USB Type-B Cable
Plug the square end of the supplied 6 foot USB Type-B cable into the rear USB type-B input of the All-In-One Monitor Riser. Plug the flatter end of the USB cable into an open port on your computer/laptop. You now have power to the All-In-One Monitor Riser. You also have the ability to communicate to your computer/laptop via flash drives, SD Cards, Apple® products, etc.
2: 5V DC Power Adapter
Plug the DC 5V power cable into the rear DC 5V input adapter of the All-In-One Monitor Riser. Plug the larger end of the adapter into a wall outlet.
Speakers
Using the speakers
The All-In-One Monitor Riser has two high quality speakers to play music/sounds from your computer, Apple® device, phone, MP3 player or other device.
1: Playing music/sounds from computer
In order to play music/sounds from your computer you must have the AllIn-One Monitor Riser connected with the USB type-B cable. You must also have the 6 foot Auxiliary cable attached. To do this, plug one end of the cable into either the front or rear Auxiliary port on the All-In-
One Monitor Riser and the other end into the “AUX” port on your computer. If your computer does not have a “AUX” port, use the “headphone” port instead (Note: If you would like to play music/sounds
from your computer through the All-In-One Monitor Riser for an extended period of time, we recommend using the rear Auxiliary port. This will reduce cord clutter).
Page 9

2: Playing music from an Apple® device
To play music from your Apple® device, plug in either the USB type-B cable or the DC 5V Adapterto power the Monitor Riser. Then place the Apple® device on the docking station (Note: When powered by the
DC 5V Power Adapter your Apple® device will not be able to communicate with your computer. Use the supplied USB type-B cable to connect to the computer in order to manage your device with programs such as iTunes®).
3: Playing music from a USB device
To play music from a USB device such as a flash drive, plug the USB device into one of the USB ports on the front or rear of the All-In-One Monitor Riser. Then follow the directions of how to supply power to the All-In-One Monitor Riser in section 1 of Using the speakers. You can now manage the music from your connected computer.
4: Playing music from other devices (phones, MP3 players, etc.)
You can also play music from a number of other devices. Plug in the USB type-B cable into the USB type-B input or the DC 5V power cable into the DC 5V input adapter. Using the supplied Auxiliary cable, plug one end into the All-In-One Monitor Riser and the other into your device. You may control the playback of music on whatever device you are using.
Powering the speakers
Once the All-In-One Monitor Riser is powered by USB or 5V DC Adapter, you may enjoy music from your speakers. To do so, turn the VOLUME knob clockwise. Upon turning, a blue LED light will illuminate signaling that the speakers have power.
Controlling the volume
To control the volume, rotate the Volume knob clockwise and counterclockwise. Turning the Volume knob clockwise (right) will
Page 10

increase the volume. Turning the knob counterclockwise (left) will decrease the volume.
Docking Station
Opening and closing
To open the docking station, push the TOUCH icon. The docking station will click inwards, and then a spring will pop the dock out. Pull the dock out completely until the internal magnetic locking pin engages. This feature will hold the docking station in place while you use your Apple® device. To close the docking station, press firmly on the TOUCH icon to glide and click the dock back into place.
Connecting Apple® devices
To connect your Apple® products, place the device on the Apple® connecting pin that sticks up from the docking station. This is the same pin found in cables that are supplied with genuine Apple® products. Once your product is placed on the connecting pin, the Monitor Riser will automatically begin reading. You can now use the connected Apple® device to control the music being played. If you would like to charge your device and connect to the computer, you must have the Monitor Riser powered by both the USB Type B cable and the DC 5V power cable.
NOTE: Due to the iPad’s™ electrical configuration, the iPad™ can only be
charged when powered by the DC 5V power cable exclusively. When
connected by USB Type B cable, charging is disabled.
USB hub
Using the USB hub
The high speed USB 2.0 hub can be used when the Monitor Riser is powered by the USB type-B input or the DC 5V input adapter.
Page 11

1: Powered by the USB type-B cable
When the Monitor Riser is powered by the USB type-B cable, the USB ports can supply power and communicate with the connected computer. There is no software to install, simply plug the USB device into an empty port and begin to use.
2: Powered by the DC 5V Power Adapter
In this setup, the USB ports can only supply power to the connected USB devices. There will be no communication between the USB ports and a computer. Use this setup to charge devices, or supply power to USB items on your desktop.
NOTE: Some external hard drives require a significant amount of power. If your device does not work properly, make sure the Monitor Riser is powered by both the USB type-B cable and DC 5V Power Adapter. This will supply more power to your external hard drive.
SD Card Reader
Using the SD card reader
To use the SD card reader, the Monitor Riser must be powered by the USB type-B cable⑬. Gently slide an SD card into the open slot until it stops. The Monitor Riser will automatically read the card and display the contents on the connected computer.
Headphone and Microphone Inputs
Using the headphone input
To use the headphone input, insert the headphone plug into the port. Once headphones are inserted, the Monitor Riser will mute the sound
Page 12

from the external speakers and will only play into the headphones. This allows you to listen privately.
Using the microphone inputs
The Monitor Riser is supplied with two microphone inputs, one in the front and one in the rear. The input located in the rear is designed for microphones that will be connected for a long period of time, which will reduce cord clutter on the desk. To use the microphone input, insert the microphone plug into the port. Once inserted, the Monitor Riser will automatically detect the microphone. (NOTE: the Monitor Riser must be
powered by the USB type-B cable to work with programs such as Skype®)
Auxiliary Inputs
Using the auxiliary inputs
The Monitor Riser is supplied with two auxiliary inputs, one in the front and one in the rear. The input located in the rear is designed for items that will be connected for a long period of time, which will reduce cord clutter on the desk. To use the input, plug one end of the auxiliary cable into the port on the Monitor Riser and the other end into your device (MP3 player, phone, computer, radio, etc.). The Monitor Riser will automatically detect the device and is ready to play music.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why is there no sound coming out of the speakers?
There can be several reasons why there is no sound coming out of the speakers:
• Make sure you are using the proper connection to power the Monitor Riser. If you are trying to play music from a computer, make sure you are using the USB type-B cable.
Page 13
10
• Check that the speakers have power. To do this, turn the volume
knobclockwise until the blue LED light appears. Then control the volume by rotating the knob left and right.
• If headphones are connected, the speakers will be mute. Make
sure there are no headphones connected.
• Make sure the volume on your connected device is turned up.
For example, if you are listening to music on your computer, be sure the computer volume is turned up. If you are listening to music on an MP3 player, use the devices volume control to turn the volume up.
I plugged a flash drive into one of the USB ports, why can’t my computer detect it?
• Make sure the Monitor Riser is connected with the USB type-B cable to the computer.
• Try plugging in the flash drive into another USB port④.
Why doesn’t my computer detect my Apple® device?
• Make sure the Monitor Riser is connected with the USB type-B cable to the computer.
• If your device still isn’t detected, also use the DC 5V power cable⑮ to power the Monitor Riser.
• Make sure the Apple® device is plugged in all the way to the
connector. You may need to remove any cases or covers to enable a secure connection.
I plugged in an external hard drive and it won’t work, why not?
• External hard drives require a significant amount of power to
work properly. In order to generate enough power, power the monitor Riser with both the USB type-B cable and the DC 5V Power Adapter⑫.
• Make sure the external hard drive is the only device plugged into the Monitor Riser. Other devices draw power away from the external hard drive, sometimes causing failure.
Page 14
11
The volume is too low and won’t go higher, what can I do?
• Make sure the volume on your connected device is turned up. For example, if you are listening to music on your computer, be sure the computer volume is turned up. If you are listening to music on an MP3 player, use the devices volume control to turn the volume up.
I hear static coming out of the speakers, what does this mean?
• Make sure the supplied Auxiliary cable is fully connected. If it is, unplug the cable and then plug it back in. If static is still audible, the cable may be defective. If you have a personal auxiliary cable, try using that before calling Victor support.
• Make sure the device you are playing music from is not muted
and the volume is turned up as loud as it will allow.
My Apple® device won’t fit on the docking station, what do I do?
• The docking station was designed to fit Apple® devices with most protective cases. If your device does not fit, try removing the protective case.
My computer will not recognize the All-In-one Monitor Riser or any connected devices, what do I do?
• Make sure all cables to the Monitor Riser and devices are plugged in and secure. Try unplugging ALL of the cables and plugging them back in.
