2.1 Ceiling Preparation

2.2 Permanent Ceiling Installation

Place the opened housing flush against the ceiling and point the housing in the desired viewing direc-
tion.
2.

wall. Be sure not to include the flange as part of the cut hole measurement. The cut hole dimensions are shown in Figure 1.
3.
Place the housing into the cut hole and use an awl or other pointed object to identify the four (4)
mounting holes. Remove the housing and drill the
four holes into the ceiling.
4.
Insert the supplied liquid tight fitting into the appro-
priate knock-out (7/8-inch) and thread cables
through.
5. Mount the housing using four (4) hollow-wall anchors with screws or toggle bolts.
6.
Assemble and adjust camera and lens as described in the camera/lens instruction manuals.
NOTE: Extend the lensfully (shortestfocusing dis-
tance yields the greatest physical extension). This
prevents intelference between the lens and the hous-
ing window when the camera is in use.
7.
Mount the camera onto the mounting plate using the screw and lockwasher provided.
8.
Connect the video and electrical cables and energize the camera.
9. Observe the scene on a monitor and adjust the camera mounting bracket for the desired viewing angle.
NOTE: For detailed information on camera con-
nections and adjustments, refer to the appropriate
camera instruction manual.
10.
Check all hardware for tightness. Close and lock the cover.
11. Cover the unused adjustment slots on the sides of the housing with a piece of duct tape to protect the housing from dust entry.
2.3 Suspended Ceiling Installation
NOTE: Installation in a suspended ceiling requires
either the V8606H-X.D-ACP adjustable ceiling panel or a customer-supplied ceiling tile as described in the introduction to Section 2, Installation. For detailed
instructions on installing the
V8606HXD
in a sus-
pended ceiling, refer to the instruction manual pro-
vided with the V8604H-XD-ACP.
3. MAINTENANCE
The V8606H-XD requires no regular maintenance other than an occasional cleaning of the window. Use mild
soap and water or a nonabrasive plastic window cleaner.
