OPERATING
In the Xc lear UV-C Professional, a UV-C ra diation wit h a wavelengt h of 253.7 nm is generated
by the sp ecial UV-C la mp, ensuring a lethal ef fect on bacteria, viruse s and moulds ( including
Legionella bacteria and Cryptosporidium). The U V-C Professional will ensure that your water
is clea n, fresh and clear in an ef ficient and e nvironment ally-friendly man ner. The water is
led thr ough the UV-C device via a pump. The U V-C radiation neutralises b acteria, v iruses
and oth er microorganisms and stops t hem from mult iplying. Al so algae are de stroyed by
the radiation g uaranteeing that your pond wate r is clear. The UV- C Professio nal has a builtin elec tronic ballast. This ballas t ensures optimum per formanc e of the lamp. In ad dition,
the st ainless steel inter ior of the reac tor ensure s the reflect ion of the UV-C r ays, there by
incre asing the ef ficiency up to 35%. Thanks to the U V-C Professional, your water will be
disin fected ef ficiently an d safely, and the qualit y of your water w ill remain exce llent.
INSTALLATION (DRAWING 3)
Never submerge t his device in water. Alwa ys install i t on the outside of the po nd. Always
put the power plu gs for the equipment in to a socket wit h a cover (Draw ing 1). When using
medicines, the device must be disconnected.
1. Deter mine the des ired locati on for the unit a nd secure th e loose supp orts (A).
2. The three -way coupl ing (D) must be u sed for a fixed Ø63 connection. F or a fixed Ø50
conne ction: glu e the (I) adapter into the t hree-way coupling ( D) with the ins ide thread
point ing downwards. For th e hose connection: glue the ada pter (l) in the t hree-way
coupl ing (D) with th e inside thre ad pointing upwards. S aw the trans parent hose
conne ctions (B) t o the require d diameter and s crew them, in cluding the rubber s ealing
rings (C), onto the adapter (I).
3. Unscrew the cap (E) of t he housing unit and install the lamp (F) in the lamp holder (G).
4. Screw the c ap (E) back o n the housing u nit, in case of hose conn ection: at tach the ho ses
using h ose clamps (n ot included ).
5. Press the unit care fully into th e support s (A) and fasten the c lips.
6. Connect the earth cable (Drawing 2). The cable (K) must be pulle d through the s train
relief (J) before installing the strain relief (J) onto the bolt. You do this by positioning
the strain relief (J) at about 10cm from the end of the earthing cable (K).
7. Oper ate the pump an d check the s ystem for free water flo w and leaks.
8. Operate the UV-C d evice and che ck if the light is on. You can se e the light through the
tran sparent con nectors t hat are UV-C re sistent.
DISMANTELLING (DRAWING 3)
Before m aintenance, or disman tling, of the d evice, alway s disconne ct the elec trical po wer
from th e mains. The device mus t be cleaned t wice a year. Whe n algae grow th or calciu m
depo sits incre ase, the quar tz glass t ube (H) in whic h the light bul b is inserted should be
clean ed. The UV-C b ulb must be replaced af ter 900 0 burning ho urs.
1. Loosen the connections and let the water r un out of the unit.
2. Unscrew t he cap (E) wi th the unit bulb and if nec essary r eplace the special lamp (F).
3. Careful ly remove the q uartz gla ss, using for e xample a coin . Never use forc e!
4. Clean the q uartz gla ss using appropria te cleaning ma terials. Always use a s oft cloth to
avoid sc ratching the quar tz.
5. When repl acing the qua rtz in the h ousing unit e nsure that th e sealing rings (L) are
correctly positioned.
6. You may need to smear vasel ine onto the bla ck foot of the quartz glass (M ) in order
to faci litate fixin g it back into th e housing uni t. Ensure that no vaseli ne gets on the
transparent hose connectors.
