1 SUMMARY
DT-16/DT-18 is a portable notebook autoranging digital multimeter (DT-16 is 3 1/2 and DT-18 is 3 3/4). It is a full - featured, stable performance, high precision, low power consumption and novel structure, safe and reliable multimeter, and it can
be used to measure AC/DC voltage, frequency, duty cycle, resistance, ca pacitance, diode forward voltage drop and on-off test. It is an ideal
measuring instrument for the majority of users. (the DT16 can be not used for measuring the frequency, duty cycle, and capacitance).
This operating instruction includes relative safety and warning
information. Please read carefully and comply with all warnings and precautions.
2 GUIDELINES OF SAFETY OPERATION
Please note that the warning label and warning notices.
A CAUTION indicates a hazard to the user, or action that may damage the instrument ordevice under test.
The instrument follows the GB4793 safety requirements of electronic measuring instrument strictly and designs and produces following the IEC61010-1 safety standards. And it is accordance with the safety standards of double insulation voltage standard CATII 300V and Pollution Degree II. The protection provided by the instrument will be weaken or lose if it is not operated in accordance with the instructions.
1. Please check the insulation layer of the probe before use in case
of any damage or abnormal phenomena. Please doesn’t use if there is any unusDTl phenomenon, such as probe bare, the insulation layer damaged, cabinet rupture, LCD monitor doesn’t

display.
2. When using the probe, your nger must be placed after the probe
nger gDTrd ring.
3. Do not apply voltage more than 500V between the meter terminal
and ground to prevent electrical shock and damage to the meter.
4. Please be sure of carefully when measuring the DCV (higher
than 60V) or ACV (higher than 42Vrms). Please keep in mind
that the gures can’t exceed the protection position in the probe
in case of electric shock.
5. It is prohibited to use the instrument without back cover or the
back cover is damaged, otherwise electric shock will happen.
6. In order to
prevent electric shock and damage to the instrument,
the measured signals should not exceed the prescribed limits.
7. Please place the function switch in the correct range stalls when
measuring. Please cut the connection of the probe and the circuit under test prior to conversion of the rotary switch. In order to prevent the meter, it is strictly prohibited to convert stalls during the measurement.
8. Please don’t change the internal wires of the instrument in case
to damage the instrument and endanger the safety.
9. Please replace the battery in time to ensure the measurement
accuracy when the “
” shows on the LCD display.
10. Don’t keep or use the instrument under the high temperature,
high humidity, and flammable, explosive and strong
electromagnetic eld environment.
11. Please use a damp cloth and mild cleaning detergent to
maintain instrument case, do not use abrasives.

12. Auto power off
When
the instrument knob and function keys were no action in
about
30 minutes, the meter enters dormancy status; In sleep mode, toggle the knob or press the panel button, the instrument will automatically boot ( into the working mode). But for DT18, if waking the instrument by pressing SELECT button, the automatically shut down function of the instrument will be cancelled. For DT16, if waking it by pressing HOLD button, the automatically shut down function will be cancelled.
