MPX™ PRC
Quick Installation Guide
Before assembling and installing a
Liebert® MPX™, read and understand all
warnings and cautions in the Liebert®
MPX™ User Manual - Global Applications
which can be downloaded at www.
VertivCo.com.
Vertiv strongly recommends that the
MPX power entry module (PEM) be
installed by an individual who is properly
trained and qualified to perform electrical
work.
WARNING: The Liebert MPX contains
high voltage that can cause serious
personal injury or death. The unit must be
installed in a restricted-access location.
NOTE: If you need support for your MPX
power rail chassis (PRC), contact a Vertiv
representative. The MPX PRC contains no
user-serviceable parts. Never work alone.
De-energize the input power and discon-
nect power connections to all equipment
in the rack before installing a Liebert MPX
or connecting input power to the unit.
ASSEMBLY
Tools Required
• Phillips® (Tip Size 2) screwdriver
• 5 mm Allen wrench
To assemble and install the MPX
PRC:
1. Attaching an MPX PRC to the
cabinet
For 78.84 in (2000 mm) racks, attach
two mounting brackets to the side
horizontal sections A1 for each MPX
PRC using an Allen wrench. For
86.61 in (2200 mm) racks, attach
two mounting brackets to a vertical
section A2.
NOTE: L-shaped brackets are used
exclusively with Knurr® Miracel™ racks.
L- or Z-shaped brackets can be used
for racks from other manufacturers.
2. Placing the mounting buttons
Insert spring nuts into the rear of
the MPX PRC. Tighten the screws
through the mounting buttons and
into the spring nuts using a Phillips®
(
Tip Size 2
) screwdriver.

3. Securing the MPX™ PRC
Insert mounting buttons through the
bracket cutout and slide it down into
the slot to secure it.
4. Connecting the grounding
cable (optional)
WARNING: Do not connect input
power to the MPX PEM until the
Liebert MPX is fully assembled and
mounted in place. As soon as input
power is connected to the MPX PEM,
the contacts on the underside are live
with hazardous voltage and the MPX
PRC carries live hazardous voltage.
Insert a spring nut into the rack frame
near the grounding point. Attach a
ground wire to the rack with a screw,
washer and lock washer, securing
the screw to the rack’s frame with
the spring nut. Use a second fieldsupplied screw, washer and lock
washer to secure the ground wire to
the MPX PRC at the connection point
marked with an earth-ground symbol.
NOTE: For instructions on how to
