4 Driver Installation
1. Introduction The VE11U 485 allows you to connect your serial devices to systems by using a USB interface. With data format auto detecting and baud rate auto switching function, VE11U 485 is able to automatically detect the data flow and switch the direction of the data lines as well as to automatically configure RS422/485 signals to any baud rate without external switch setting.

2-3. Power Connection (USB Internal Bus) Direct power input from USB bus port. (current 55mA/+5V)
2-4. USB Connection The VE11U 485 has a USB A-Type connector which is fully compliant with USB 1.1, 1.0 and USB 2.0, the full rate speed up to 12Mbps.
2-5. RS485 W iring The RS-485 mode supports the Transmit and Receive channels using 2-wire half-duplex operation.
2-6. RS422 W iring The RS-422 mode supports 4 wire full duplex operation.

3. Terminal Resister VE11U 485 hardware has Terminal resistor built in, user may add external terminal resistor if require. The external terminal resister connection as below.

3-3. Terminal Resistor Specification 110 ohm: If distance between both end of RS422/485 devices in 1.2KM. 220 ohm: If distance between both end of RS422/485 devices in 600M. 330 ohm: If distance between both end of RS422/485 devices in 300M.

7. Finish
In case of any problems try installing through :
1. Go to C:\SiLabs\MCU\CP210x\Windows
2. Run CP210xVCPInstaller
3. Install

4. Start Scanning hardware ( Dont set up hardware now)
The PC needs to be restarted for installation of the drivers.
Connect the Converter Check Device manager under Control panel for CP201 USB Drivers.

Check for a new Com port in COM/LPT1 section, CP210 USB to UART Bridge. This finishes the installation.
Connecting the Hardware :
1. Connect a 485 cable as per diagram in section 2.
2. Connect the USB cable from the USB port of the converter to your USB device.
3. The Converter is ready for use.
