The Vello BG-C18 battery grip offers extended shooting
time and comfort when shooting in a vertical (portrait)
orientatio n. The grip is compatible w ith the Canon EOS RP
Mirrorless Camera and accepts up to two Canon L P- E17
rechargeable batteries and simultaneously recharges
the power sources. It offers an alternate shu tter release
button that triggers the c amer a via the included cable,
making the grip ideal for shooting portrait photography.
And the control-lock switch dis ables the shut ter release
button to prevent unwanted exposures.

Precautions
1.
The BG-C18 should be used only with compatible
devices specified in this manual.
2.
Use only with the batteries and battery holders
recommended in this manual.
3. If you notice smoke, noise, or an unusual smell from
the bat tery pack, discontinue use immediately.
Remove the batteries, and ta ke the device to a Vello
authorized reseller.
4.
The bat tery level may not display properly if bat teries
are installed before mounting the grip.
5. Remove batteries from the grip when not in use.
6. Do not attempt to disassemble.
7.
Avoid exposing this product to water or ex treme
humidity, and keep i t in a cool, dry place.
8. Keep out of reach of children.

Attaching the Grip
1.
Ensure that the camera
power is turned off, and
the grip’s control lock is in
the Off position.
2.
Remove the camera’s
battery, then slide the
camera battery chamber
cover’s lock ing pin, as
indicated above, and
remove the cover.
3.
Slide the chamber door
into the BG-C18’s camera
battery door holder for
safe kee ping.

4.
Inser t the batter y grip’s
power contacts into the
camera’s battery chamber.
5.
Rotate the thumbwheel
counterclockwise until
the grip is secured to the
camera.

Connect the shutter release
cable from the 2. 5 mm
remote cable socket on the
grip to the remote port on
the camera.

Inserting the Batteries
1.
Turn off the camera’s
power, and make sure the
grip’s control lock switch is
in the Off position.
2.
Pull the batter y
compartment’s latch to
the left, and open the
compartment door.

Inser t the first battery into
slot 1 as shown, until it locks
into place . Repeat for slot 2.

Close the compartment
door until it clicks, and the
latch repositions to the
right.
5. Turn on the camera power,
and make sure the grip’s
control lock swi tch is in the
On position.
Note: When removing the grip,
turn off the camera’s power and
the grip’s control lock switch, and
then remove the batteries.
