Introduction
Thank you for choosing the Vello BG-C17 Battery Grip for the Canon EOS Rebel SL2 DSLR Camer a. This camer a accessory offers extended shooting time by housing two LP-E17 batteries (not included). The grip’s ergonomic design enhances the comfor t of ver tical (por trai t) image capturing with the additional shut ter release button.
Please read through this entire manual before using the BG -C17 battery grip.

Precautions
1.
The BG-C17 should be used only with compatible batteries and devices specif ied in this manual.
2. If you notice smoke, an unusual smell, or noise from
the bat tery pack, discontinue use im mediately. Remove the batteries and take the device to a Vello authorized reseller.
3.
The bat tery level may not display properly if the batteries are inser ted before mounting the grip.
4. Remove batteries from the grip w hen not in use.
5. Do not attempt to disassemble.
6. Avoid water or ex treme humidity, and keep in a dry
and cool place.
7. Keep out of reach of children.

Attaching the Grip
1.
Ensure that your ca mera power is turned off, and remove the battery.
2.
On a flat surface, turn the Canon SL2 camera upside down, and open the battery chamber door and DC cord hole cover.
3.
Match up the metal contacts inside the SL2’s batter y chamber with the dummy battery. Insert the dummy battery, and push it all the way in until it’s locked in place. Close the camera’s battery chamber door.

With the camera in one hand and the grip in the other, line up the camer a’s tripod mount with the grip’s mounting screw.
5.
Rotate the attachment wheel clockwise to secure the grip to the camera.
Note: The dummy battery’s cable will protrude slightly from the camera’s DC cord hole after attaching the grip.
6.
Connec t the 2.5 mm shutter release cable from the grip’s shutter relea se cable port to the remote port on the Canon SL2 .

Pull down on the grip’s battery door latch, and open the bat tery compartment. Insert one or two LP-E17 type batteries, matching the contacts on the batteries with the ones inside the grip.

Close the battery compartment door until it clicks . Turn the camera on, and view the battery power level on the LCD screen.

Note: When removing the grip,
turn the camera power of f before
removing the batteries.
