The Vello BG-C12 is compatible with the C anon 7D
Mark I I DSLR cam era. The B G-C12 accept s two Cano n
LP-E6 r echargeable batterie s, or six AA batteries
(alkal ine, Ni-MH, li thium, or n ickel-ma nganese) ca n
be used instead for added convenience. The BG- C12
is equipped with an alternate shutt er- release b utton,
AF area sele ction but ton, AF st art button, A F point
selection, AE lock/FE lock button, multi-controller
button, multi -function button, and m ain dial for
shooting in a vertical position.
Please read through t his entire manual before using
the BG -C12 battery grip.

Precautions
1. The BG -C12 should be used only with compatible
devices specif ied in this m anual.
2. Use only with batteries and bat tery ho lders
recommended in this manual.
3. Cover the power terminals with t he contact cap
when the BG-C12 is not in use. Th is prevent s
elec trical shorts cau sed by metal objec ts touchin g
the power terminals.
4. When the battery holder is removed from t he
grip, r emove the batteries or place the holde r in
a conta iner to prevent electric al short s caused by
contact with other metal objects.
5. If you notice smoke , an unusual smell or
noise f rom the batter y pack, discontinue use
immediately. Remove the batteries and t ake the
device to a Vello autho rized reseller.
6. Set t he gr ip’s control-lock switch to the locked
position when not shooting vertically.
7. The bat ter y level may not display proper ly if
batteries are i nserted before mounting the g rip.
8. Remove bat ter ies from the grip when not in use.
9. Do not attempt to dis assemble.
10. Avoid water or e xtr eme humidity a nd kee p in a
dry and cool place.
11. Keep out of reach of children.

Attaching The Grip

and that the control-l ock
switch is set to OFF on t he

compartment.

Inserting Batteries
1. Ensure that the power is
turn ed of f on the camera
and the grip. Use your
fingernail to flip out t he
battery tray l ever so you
can rot ate and pull as
indicated above, and slide
the bat tery tray out of the
grip.
2. Can on LP- E6 bat ter ies:
Insert up to two batteries
by placing them into either
slot in the bat ter y tr ay,
while ensu ring the correct
orie ntation as shown on
the tray.

new AA batt eries of the
same t ype into th e AA
battery holder as shown,
while ensu ring that
they are in the corr ect
orientation.

lever counterclockwise
