Safety Precautions
EXPLOSIVE
Fuels and their vapors are extremely explosive if ignited.
ELECTRICITY
High voltage exists in, and is supplied to, the device. A potential shock hazard exists.
WARNI N G
Heed the adjacent instructions to avoid damage to equipment, property, environment or personal injury.
READ ALL RELATED MANUALS
Knowledge of all related procedures before you begin work is important. Read and understand all manuals thoroughly. If you do not understand a procedure, ask someone who does.
WARNING
This product is to be installed and operated in the highly combustible environment of a gasoline tank where flammable liquids and explosive vapors may be present.
FAILURE TO COMPLY WITH THE FOLLOWING WARNINGS AND SAFETY PRECAUTIONS COULD CAUSE DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, ENVIRONMENT, RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH.
Observe the following precautions:
1. Read and follow all instructions in this manual, including all safety warnings.
2. To be installed in accordance with the National Electrical Code (NFPA 70) and the Code for Motor Fuel Dispensing Facilities and Repair Garages (NFPA 30A).
3. Before installing this device, turn Off, tag/lock out power to the system, including console and submersible pumps.
4. To protect yourself and others from being struck by vehicles, block off your work area during installation or service.
FLAMMABLE
Fuels and their vapors are extremely flammable.
TURN POWER OFF
Live power to a device creates a potential shock hazard. Turn Off power to the device and associated accessories when servicing the unit.
USE SAFETY BARRICADES
Unauthorized people or vehicles in the work area are dangerous. Always use safety cones or barricades, safety tape, and your vehicle to block the work area.

Installation Steps
FAILURE TO FOLLOW THE STEPS BELOW MAY IMPAIR INTRINSIC SAFETY, CAUSE DAMAGE TO PROPERTY, ENVIRONMENT, RESULTING IN SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH
1. Before installing this device, turn Off, tag/lock out power to the system, including console and submersible pumps.

2. A separate 4mm
(minimum) wire must be run from the site earth ground to the STP sump in a nonintrinsically safe conduit or duct (see Figure 1). DO NOT CONNECT THE CLAMP OR BODY OF THE PLLD PRESSURE SENSOR TO ANY INTRINSCALLY SAFE WIRE THAT CONNECTS TO THE TLS CONSOLE.
3. Using the ring terminal supplied in the kit, insert the stripped ground wire into the barrel of the ring terminal.
4. Use a properly sized crimping tool to ensure a good tight bond (see Figure 2).
5. Place the clamp around the sensor and attach the ring terminal to the clamp with the clamp bolt.
6. Securely tighten the clamp bolt until the clamp tightly grips the sensor body and no longer can be rotated by hand.
7. Confirm continuity between the PLLD sensor body and ground at the electrical panel and between the electrical panel to the TLS console chassis (reference Figure 3).

Recommended Earth Layout for PLLD sites
1. Site has 16mm earth (typical) to each tank sump.
2. All sump earths are connected to common point.
3. From the common point, earth is connected to an Earth spike.
4. From the common point, earth is also connected to the building earth in the distribution panel.
