Vcon VDK User Manual

The VCON Development Kit (VDK) is a complete set of 32-bit OCX custom controls for integrating all of VCON’s visual communication capabilities into new or existing applications. The VDK allows developers to create custombuilt videoconferencing applications on top of VCON’s hardware platforms in various types of communication environments such as ISDN or IP. It enables the easy and smooth addition of video to applications in a broad range of industry sectors, including banking, financial and real estate services, remote consulting, e-commerce, distance learning, security/ surveillance, telemedicine, travel, call centers and more.

Developed with VCON Hardware
VCON has a wide range of videoconferencing systems including the IP-only Escort, the USB-based ViGO
TM
, the IP/ISDN Cruiser 150 and 384 and the Monitor boards, which are incorporated into VCON’s MediaConnect group systems. Since a VDK developed application can run on a multitude of VCON’s endpoints, developers can create integrated solutions that include group, desktop and portable videoconferencing systems, all with a common user interface. Since no royalty is assessed on the software created with the VDK, it can be loaded on multiple VCON endpoints for sale.
The MXM Difference
As part of an integrated VCON Media Xchange Manager™(MXM) solution, VDK applications take on additional functionality. Some of the OCX controls in the VDK are specific to functions granted by the MXM, like video call transfer, ad-hoc conferencing, and remote endpoint control. Using the MXM to manage a custom-tailored application, like telemedicine or security, increases the value of the VDK-developed software as well as the manageability of the application for network administrators.
The VCON Development Kit can be used to customize unique applications for VCON videoconferencing systems
