Quick Start Guide
1. Mount the GPS antenna in the centre of
your vehicle’s roof, away from roof bars
or radio
antennas which can cause
interference.
Note: If there is no metal underneath the
antenna, create a metallic ‘ground plane’ to
get a reliable signal.
2. Push the antenna plug into the GPS
socket.
3. Insert the Lemo plug of the power cable
into the PWR connector. Then plug the
cigarette lighter adapter into your vehicle.
4. When satellites have been acquired, the
LapTimer will check the GPS location
against Racelogic’s track map database
and load the layouts available.

Register your VBOX LapTimer to receive our eBook on

drivers and instructors.

5. Click on ‘Select Track’ in the main
menu and pick which track layout
you are driving.
6. When you have selected the right track
layout, exit the menu and move to the
‘Predictive Lap Timing’ screen using
the arrows.
8. When the starting line is crossed again,
a live delta-t display will be shown,
comparing the current lap time to the
reference lap time.
7. Start driving! When the starting line is
crossed for the first time, a reference
lap will be created.
9. The two LEDs on the front of the unit
will indicate if the vehicle is currently
faster (green) or slower (red) in
comparison to the reference lap speed.
10. If a faster lap time is achieved, this
will automatically replace the
reference lap, so VBOX LapTimer is
always comparing to the best time.
