When using the vacuum cleaner, basic safety precautions
should always be observed, including the following:
1.Only use the vacuum cleaner indoors on dry surfaces.
2.Turn off the vacuum cleaner controls before
connecting to or disconnecting from the mains
supply.
3.Always unplug the vacuum cleaner before connecting or
disconnecting the vacuum hose.
4. Close attention is necessary when used by or near
children. Do not allow children to use as a toy.
5. Use only as described in this manual. Use only the
manufacturer’s recommended attachments.
6. Do not use the vacuum cleaner with a damaged cord
or plug. Do not use the vacuum cleaner if it has been
dropped, damaged, left outdoors or dropped into
water. Return the vacuum cleaner to a Vax
Authorised Service Agent or suitably qualified person
for examination, repair or adjustment.

7. Do not pull or carry by the cord. Do not use the cord
as a handle, close a door on the cord or pull the cord
around sharp edges or corners. Do not run the
vacuum cleaner over the cord. Keep the cord away

hands. Do not use outdoors or on wet surfaces.
9. Do not put any objects into openings. Do not use
with any openings blocked and do not restrict air
flow. Keep all openings free of dust, lint, hair or
anything that may reduce airflow.
10. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of the
body away from openings and moving parts.
11. Do not pick up hot coals, cigarette butts, matches or
any hot, smoking or burning objects.
12. Do not pick up flammable or combustible materials
(lighter fluid, petrol, kerosene, etc) or use in the
presence of explosive liquids or vapours.

be taken to arrange the cord so that the cord cannot

before connecting/disconnecting the attachments.
CAUTION: The vacuum cleaner is a very powerful
unit. Before plugging the cord into the outlet make
sure the switch is in the ‘off’ position. Hold the vacuum
cleaner firmly when starting and in use.
IMPORTANT: If the inlet or hose is blocked, switch
off the vacuum cleaner and remove the blockage(s)
before re-starting the vacuum cleaner.
IMPORTANT: Cleaning filters improves vacuum
performance. Make sure all filters are replaced back
into the vacuum cleaner before using.

and not for commercial or industrial use.

Motor Thermostat
IMPORTANT: The motor is equipped with a thermal
cut-out. If for any reason, the vacuum cleaner should
ver-heat, the thermostat will automatically turn the

Detach dirt container from back panel of cleaner by
pressing dirt container release button and tilting forward.

Slide handle through top of back panel. Insert carry handle
through holes in back panel (see Fig.3/2).
Re-attach dirt container by aligning bottom of dirt container
to bottom of cleaner and push forward to snap into place.

Secure Back Hose:
Wrap hose around back of hose caddy. Push hose wand
down into the right side of cleaner and push the handle
flat against the cleaner (Fig.3/5).

Insert one (1) screw through front of cleaner to secure handle.
Secure carry handle with two (2) 1” screws through front of
cleaner (see Fig.3/3).

Tool Storage:
Attach tools: (a) Slide the dust brush onto post on the
lower tool caddy with the bristles facing out. (b) Clip Turbo
Tool into the caddy on the front of the handle. (c) Slide the
extension tube / crevice tool into the round slot on the left

4. How to Operate
Cord Release:
Turn Quick Cord Release for easy cord removal. Store cord
in cord grip (see page 2 - parts overview) to keep out of
the way while vacuuming (Fig.4/1).

CAUTION: Brush agitator continues to rotate while the
hose is removed or in use and at all times while cleaner is
on. Keep hair, loose clothing, fingers and all parts of the
body away from brush area while cleaner is on. Cleaner
must be in the upright position to lift rotation brush off

Pull out and wipe with a damp cloth to clean (Fig.5/12).
Regular Maintenance
Each time the dirt container is emptied, the filter
should be cleaned. Tap the filter firmly against the
inside of a dustbin until the dirt stops falling from the
filter.
The filter will be discoloured after use, but this will
not affect the filter’s performance.
Do not brush the filter.
The cleaning instructions may vary depending on the
dirt conditions. In some cases, more or less cleaning
of the filter may be required.

Dry and return the air directors to the dirt container. Rotate
1/4 turn clockwise to lock in place (Fig.5/13).

Replace dirt container:
Return dirt container to cleaner. Align slot on bottom of
dirt container with tab on cleaner. Push to snap into place
(Fig.5/14).
6. Belt or Brushbar: Removal
and Replacement

To remove belt:
Lay cleaner flat and flip cleaner to expose nozzle base.
Base should lay flat and face up. The remove nozzle guard,
use Phillips screwdriver to remove the three (3)screws.
