• Always make sure the brushbar is set to hard oor when usingyour vacuum on the stairs and take extra care when positioningthe vacuum cleaner on the stairs.

• Don’t wash the post-motor lter.

• Keep all openings clear and free from debris as this may aectthe airow/suction.
• Always replace the fuse in the plug with a British 13amp fuse.
• Always protect the power cable from heated surfaces and open ames.
• Use only CE approved 13amp extension cords, non-approved extension cordsmay overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the extension cord as it couldbe a trip hazard.
• Store the vacuum cleaner in a cool, dry area. If lters have been cleaned as perthe user guide instructions ensure they are thoroughly dry before storing away.

Initial setup for normal operation
1.Use the base accessories.– Shortest hose.– Extension tube set to shortest practicable length.
2.Clean lters installed.
3.Dust receptacle empty.
4.All air vents must be closed.
5.Floor heads/tools set to Carpet Mode for carpet cleaning.
6.Mechanical Agitation turned ON for carpet cleaning.

Using your machine
Before you begin cleaning
• Always switch o and unplug the vacuum cleaner before connecting or disconnecting the hose/attachments, or removingand emptying the dirt container.
• The vacuum cleaner is equipped with a thermal cut-out. If for any reason the vacuum cleaner does overheat the thermostatwill automaticallyturn the vacuum cleaner o. If this happens, switch the vacuum cleaner o and unplug from electricalsocket. Remove and emptythe dirt container also check the vacuum cleaner for blockages. Allow the vacuum cleanertocool for approximately 1 hour (if you have cleaned the lters please wait 24 hours forthe lters to fully dry before puttingback into the vacuum).
• Pre-motor lters require cleaning at least every 3 months.
• If the vacuum cleaner is blocked, switch o and unplug before removing the blockage.
• When using the accessories always make sure the brushbar is switched to the o position.
IMPORTANT: When the vacuum cleaner is stood in the upright position or when using on stairs and the hose/tools,the brushbar height adjust dial must be set to hard oor
Using accessories
NOTE: The crevice tool, dusting brush and upholsterytool can all be attached to the telescopic tube or directlyto the hose.
Slide vent cover open to decrease suction,if required on high piled carpets.
Note: For most ecient results the airvent should be closed.
Emptying and cleaning the dirt container
Press the dirt container release button and pullto remove the dirt container.
Cleaning the HEPA pre-motor filter
Turn the dirt container lid anti-clockwise…
…and lift to remove.
Close the vent cover to increase suction,for maximum cleaning on hard oors.
Hold dirt container over a bin and press the dirt container release button to open allowing dirt to fall out.
Grasp tab on lter and pull to remove.
Tap the lter over a binto release any dirt.

Wash the lter underrunning water (40°C max).

Leave to fully dry for at least 24 hours before putting back into the vacuum cleaner.

Turn the dirt container lidanti-clockwise and lift to remove.
Tap over a bin to removedirt and debris.
Brush dirt from the shroud.
HEPA post-motor filter maintenance
IMPORTANT:
The exhaust lter is designed to oer long life with no maintenance. The lter should bechecked periodically and when heavily discoloured it should be replaced. Please do notwash, scrub or brush the lter as this will damage the delicate lter media.
Press button on post-motorlter cover and remove.
Remove the post-motor lterfrom the lter cover.
Check the post-motor lterfor discolouration.

Removing debris from the brushbar
A REDlight will indicatea jammed brushbar.
Switch o yourvacuum cleanerat the main socket. Using a pairof scissors cut any hair or debris free from around the brushbar.
Turn the vacuum cleaner back on.
GREENlight will indicate that the

Changing the brush bar

Using a crosshead screwdriver, remove 3 screws from the sideof the oor head.
Remove the end cap belt cover.Remove the brush bar location
plate to gain access to the belt.

Replace the old belt, ensuring the teeth are fully engaged with the cogs.
Pull brushbarthrough brushbarside coverto remove.

Removing blockages from the TurboTool
Turn the TurboTool over and slide othe locking ring.
*Not applicable to some models.
Detach lower housing and remove.
Using a pair of scissors,cut any hair or debris freefrom around the brushes.
Changing the belt
IMPORTANT:Unplug and switch ovacuum cleaner before maintenance ortroubleshooting checks
Using a crosshead screwdriver, remove 3 screws from the sideof the oor head.
Remove the end cap belt cover.Remove the brush bar location plate
to gain access to the belt.
To re-assemble theTurboTool, ensure that the tabs are engaged and pivot the lower housing closed. Slip the locking ring overthe neck of the TurboTool and into the groove to nish.
Replace the old belt, ensuring the teeth are fully engaged with the cogs.
